The palace is great monument with good architecture and history of Jaat ruler Maharaja Surajmal who defeated Delhi rulers.

Its an excellent palace and well maintained.. the area surrounding the place is filthy AF but inside is good. It is a large compound and would easily take atleast 4 hours to visit every corner.. its a must visit if you are planning to go to Bharatpur.. Its not worth a ride or a long drive otherwise...

It is another must see place if you are travelling around Bharatpur bird sanctuary. 2000 working fountains. the summer palace of Raja Suraj mal virtually floats on water. it really needs to be brought back to its past glorious colorful ambience so that it competes with other heritage sites in rajasthan. The entrance fee is minimal, but the palace is... More

Surprised to find such grand palaces in a remote , sleepy town.....but the water bodies around it are polluted spoiling the backdrop of the palaces....still worth a visit.

The most outstanding ruler of Bharatpur with Deeg as his capital was Raja Suraj Mal. He was a ruler only for seven years but even as crown prince he did great deeds. He was valorous but was also regarded as an astute diplomat and a thoughtful man. He definitely punched above his weight. The Deeg palace is very impressive. Inside... More

Deeg’s biggest draw is the palace complex known as Deeg Bhawan or Jal Mahal (‘water palace’, because it not just abuts a series of water bodies, but also has—at certain times of the year—a lot of water flowing through it, forming pools, channels, mazes, sheets, and fountains). Two consecutive Jat rulers, Maharaja Suraj Mal and his successor Jawahar Singh, built... More

Very good palace. Beautiful gardens well laid out. Structures also very good. The lake around is dirty. Overall worth seeing once. Drive from Bharatpur was nice.

I had seen pictures of this palace years ago and wanted to see it in person. A longish bumpy ride brought me to the palace complex, which was larger than I had expected. The grounds were well kept, the buildings, not so much. They were still interesting and had remnants of the glory of gone by days. The fountains are... More

Wow what a palace! It's in not so good shape but this is part of the charm and no tourists!! This had lots of water and gorgeous fountains it's so sad that human beings today can't take care of these amazing monuments. The fountains are not operating and the surrounding moat water is awful people bathing and washing clothes there... More
