Incredible preservation of heritage

The museum is in the centre of the city. It has been maintained well by the caretakers. The description of various statues need to be done up again. It would be great if facility of voice guidance be provided .

Well maintained heritage site

We came here looking for Lohgarh fort and then realised that this musuem was a part of the fort. The entry charges are nominal and the visiting hours are till 8 in the evening. The lower part consists of art work and engravings done on stones where as the upper portion has incredible weapons used in battles in the medieval period by the Jat rulers. It also consists of paintings, local and chinese art and craft found in Bharatpur. The upper portion of the museum also shows the paintings of the Maharajas of Bharatpur . One can spend good hour here with family. It has been kept quite neat and clean by the managing authority.

Don't miss the sights at dusk
Sep 2019
The museum has an interesting section on arms, and the terrace is good for some nice pictures. The hamam (Turkish style bath) was amusingly interesting too.
The best part though is at dusk whern the skies turn an indigo hue, and makes for a lovely backdrop to the palace building which is beautifully lit up.
Unending swarms of parrots rush to grab a spot for the night on a couple of trees across the museum, makes for a memorable experience watching the cacophonous show!

Very well maintained museum .... lovely old haveli in which it is housed. The arms section is nice, others are ok. The collection is not very extensive but they have done a good job of displaying what they have. Needs about 1 hour

Small but worth the visit
Oct 2018 • Solo
Its a small palace museum inside the Bharatpur town / fort. Most of the people including my taxi guide was not aware of this place. But we searched the route thru Google and this was worth the visit. Worth the visit. Time spent approx 1 hour max.
