As an Indian , I had read about it in history books, but seeing the actual place itself was a sad reminder of the atrocities committed by the British. It is just outside the Golden temple. The grounds are well maintained. Parents must take their children to learn more about Indian history.

The monument and memorial to the people who gave their lives in the struggle for independence is worth taking in on your visit to the city of Amritsar. The park areas are a place to take you away from the hustle of the city streets for an hour or so.

This is a good place to know about the horrific massacre which took place in Amritsar. They have boards which are pretty much self explanatory. You must visit this place for its historic importance! Good for families, kids, historians, school and college groups.

Worth visiting if you are in Amritsar because of its historical importance. Nice gardens with small museum and memorials to the victims of the shooting. Calm atmosphere prevails. No entrance fee
