Though I visited the wetlands in the month of January, definitely not a good time to visit; still the location was beautiful. The fog added a different Erie feel to the wetlands. Let me be honest i did not spot a single bird but it was more because of the cold misty day. But still some pointers to help travelers.... More

Nice place for bird lovers.One hour drive from amritsar. Good place for family picnics. Not much of the facilities available at the site. Harike wetland and Bird sanctuary is the largest wetland in the northern India. Constructed in 1953 during the making of Harike Barrage on the confluence of River Beas and Sutlej. A nice place for bird watchers but in winter from nov to feb months. But place has little facilities. No good restaurant or coffee shop. Only tea venders or dhaba's nearby

Harike Wetland largest wetland northern border INDIA and near the Indo-pak border.& very beautiful view of GURUDWAR Nanaksar Sahib,Harike lake many types of birds in the forests. Harike Wetland also Starting points of Rajasthan Irrigation Channels & Headworks Sutlej beas river

This place is paradise for bird watchers. You will have to obtain the permit from the forest officer near the sanctuary before 4 pm to visit this place

This wetland near Amritsar is home to variety of migratory birds. Ideal time to visit is in winters. Carry a pair of good quality binoculars and a camera with a good zoom.

Harike Pattan (wetland) is located on Amritsar-Moga/Ferozepur road, after Taran Taran. Its about 60 km from Amritsar and Moga both. Its a favourite among bird watchers of migratory birds in winter

Harike is a bird sanctuary that spreads over three districts of Kapurthala, Firozepur and Amritsar in Punjab. This place is all about nature. Take a walk if you like to see some birds on trees. Otherwise looking for bird in the lake which is huge and birds are always very far is not a good idea, Bring binoculars if u r desperate. Monkeys can be seen on the path, even the otters can be seen at some... More
