An old temple in an underground cave. When lord Ram would go out for hunts etc Sita would be in this safe haven. The descent into the cave is by crouching and could be claustrophobic for some. Wirth the effort. Beautifully carved figures. Nearby is also the Marichvan temple.

Sita Gupha (Cave) is one of the attractions for tourists visiting Panchavadi. Its location is about 2-3 kms from main nashik city. In History it is said that this was the living and worshiping place of goddess sita. Ravan is said to have kidnapped Sita from this cave. Entry to the cave is quite tricky and slippery so people are... More

Sita Gumpha is one of the most attractive tourist place in Panchavadi, 3 to 4 Kms from Nashik. It is said that this was the place where Sita, wife of Lord Rama used to worship Lord Shiva during her exile. It is also believed that Ravana had kidnapped Sita from this cave. This is a very narrow cave that people have... More

Can be easily done by young people. Old aged people can avoid the same . Must visit as it as old history linked to... More

A small cave which has been modified a lot to loose its originality. Small children and older people can no way enter. Can be skipped if on a tight schedule.

It has ancient history attached as it is believed Sita stayed inside this cave hideout. A very narrow opening making entry possible only by crawling & the beauty is it is slopy. It makes one's breath intense by the time they come out of the thinly ventilated cave after Darshan.

Its worth to visit the Gumpha, but I wont recommend it to older people who face problems related to back and joints since it a gumpha you have to bend down and sit stand a lot, but for people who can do it its a must go.
