the only way to reach Elephanta Island is through a boat ride. It takes an hour and the leisure ride takes you past the naval base and very close to oil and chemical tankers jetty. if you are into photography then this is a must...More

Best place to visit. Boat ride is enjoyable. Very good food. No tension of toilet facility. Big crowd but lovely . Monkeys are very calm. Only people should not pollute the place. You also get very scenic view of Gateway of India and Taj hotels...More

Situated on a small island, roughly an hours boat ride from Mumbai. The boats leave from the harbour just behind the Gate of India. Entrance fee is 30rs for locals and 500rs for tourists, which may seem a little steep but definitely worth the journey....More

Travel to Elephanta Island by boats which leave from the Gateway of India. Once on the island it is a long walk up shallow stairs to reach the caves which are full of carved statues; the stairs are lined with vendors

You have to buy ticket for you at Gate Way of India. Many small ships/boats are there. No need for special or prior booking.
