Even though the sightings of the cows from a distance is great, but this is a guarded private property. The gates are not opened for tourist. You can only see from far.

Indo Swiss Project is a Dairy Farm with gated and guarded property. No one is allowed to see it. You can see from outside the gate. This is not a tourist attraction as permission is not available to tourist.

While it is a major attraction in the area (or so my driver told me) we couldn't enter. However, while crossing Mattupetti, we did see large areas of farmland with cattle grazing (and one of those areas even had 5 wild elephants!!) Honestly, that sighting made my day.

I went to Mattupetti Indo-Swiss Farm. Established in 1961, Mattupetti Indo-Swiss Farm is a place where Tamil migrant labourers had once reared their cattle. With more than 100 varieties of high-yielding cattle being reared, the dairy farm is one of its kinds. It is great place to go.

This place is closed for tourists' visit now. We reached there without knowing this and then came back disappointed.

Do not go to this Dairy farm. It is no more a tourist place now a days. They are not allowing any tourist inside to visist and see the cows. My driver also suggested that it was closed when we travelled to Munnar. I checked the same and found a board infront of this property.

About 10 enclosures are there where the cattle are kept. Visitors are allowed only in 4. The campus is sprawling and the visuals green.
