Sometimes when you travel you get to have a moment of insight, when you are not just an outsider peering at a culture from a distance, but when you really connect with someone and learn something. These moments are fleeting and rare, and very precious. Nimi's class is one of them. In terms of the cooking itself, the class was... More

This was my first cooking-class in India and WOW it was the best introduction to Indian cooking ever! Skip top-station and the tea museum, spend your time with Nimi instead. She went through all spices, many which was completely new for me and chose a couple of recipes from her book that you get to take home. Then we started... More

We had a great time at Nimi's cooking class and although my husband and I regularly eat out and cook, curries, we both learned a lot about Kerala cooking. For 2000Ir each, (£16 each approx) we had two cook books;, each one different as we were a couple, just under five hours of fun tuition and finally eating the tasty... More

A great way of spending an afternoon before going spice shopping or on plantation tours. You don't have to know much about Indian cuisine to join. Nimi explains first the basic and you can ask lots of questions during. Really enjoyed the class and the delicious food. (Eat a little lunch before going for 2pm class. You will eat around... More

We first contacted Nimi 7 months before our visit to make sure that she was going to be available. This is not for those looking for a quick demonstration, working in Nimi's kitchen is work. The best kind for those who enjoy cooking and people. She said to arrive at 3pm and expect to stay for 5 hours or more.... More

What can I say? The food was incredible and Nimi explained the process well, and having a book gives you an extra memento/encouragement to try at home. Such an inspirational woman and a fantastic experience. I thoroughly recommend it!

We called the day of to book a class for four people and we were lucky that Nimi could accommodate all of us due to a cancellation. Nimi is a passionate and knowledgeable teacher. She taught us about various Kerala foods, which are way beyond typical South Indian dosas and idli sambar. The kitchen where we cooked was very clean... More
