We stayed at Rosegardens for 3 nights during which time we were treated to wonderful food, hospitality and gorgeous surroundings. The whole family were lovely and welcoming and full of useful information. The tour of the gardens was delightful and very educational we were treated to smelling and tasting samples of various spices straight from the plant a great immersive experience!
The highlight was the 2 hour cooking class where we learnt several authentic kerelan dishes and how to make chapatis, we were then served our creations at dinner what a feast!
I took plenty of notes and have since recreated the dishes at home which immediately transported me back to that beautiful place! I would highly recommend both the accommodation and the experiences on offer.

I had the 2 hour cooking class at Rosengarden which was a wonderful experience. We learned 4 different typical recipes and how to do chapati bread.
It was both ludical and technical and our hosts were great teachers. Then we had dinner and could eat the great food!
If you come to Munnar i highly recommend this great family for cooking classes, dinner and of course stay there overnight if you can!

My husband and I had a fun afternoon learning to cook traditional Keralan food with Rose at Taste of Munnar Cooking Class. Rose was very patient with us and we got to enjoy our cooking after the class. Would highly recommend for a fun afternoon.

Really friendly and fun, and the recipes were delicious. Was impressed with the technique. We felt really comfortable and the recipes were delicious (lots of coconut oil and mustard seeds). It was really special to see the family’s kitchen.

We've had the most wonderful time within this homestay! The family gave us such a warm welcome, an amazing cooking class, garden tour, and amazing breakfast and dinner! Also got some great recommendations to do in the area, and a ride to the start of a walking tour so early in the morning, which was really attentive!! Definitely the most personal accommodation during our travel time in India, which made the whole journey more memorable.

We had a great time cooking at Taste of Munnar. We made four different dishes and chappathis, all of which were delicious! Rajee was a really good teacher. Having eaten her amazing food whilst staying at Rose Gardens, it was lovely to be in the kitchen and learn how to prepare and cook Keralan food. I would highly recommend the experience!

We stayed at the Rose Gardens for a few days and spent an evening cooking with Rajee. We were very excited to cook with her after eating her delicious food for several days and the experience didn't disappoint! Rajee was an excellent tutor sharing her wealth of experience with us in her lovely home. Since returning to the UK we've made the dishes that she taught us a number of times. The Egg roast is now a favourite of ours and home made Chappatis have become a staple! It was a joy to stay with such a lovely family and a pleasure being taught to cook Keralan food by Rajee!

I can’t believe Rosegarden isn’t filled with visitors every single day. We feel like we stumbled upon a secret garden trove. In an enchanting nursery, we went on a tour of the plantation, the owner giving us leaves to smell while he pointed out the impressive variety of plants cultivated by his botanist father.

After, we joined Rose and Rajee for a cooking class that taught us so many skills, while having fun, telling stories, and preparing 5(!!) dishes in a couple of hours. The food was magnificent, our teachers were kind and so informative, and we never wanted to leave. We learned about Rosegarden from our Lonely Plant book guide after we’d already booked our hotel, and we regret not staying in their rooms! The owners were so helpful and responsive, helped us with transport (when a tuktuk wasn’t available, the owner offered to drive us himself!). We bought several spices grown on site, to take back memories of our wonderful morning with the family.

Highly recommend to anyone, we’ve already sent information to our friends in the area.
