We trekked chinnar today. We reached the kerala check post where the trekking office is located. A quick form was filled and we were all set to go after paying 225 per head that includes a guided trek to the watch tower followed by trek through the forest. We left at 10 and were back by 12:30. We saw only... More

It was back in 2011 or so I trucked in Chinar Wildlife Sanctuary along with my friends Javid, Zam, Prajilal. We've had a very experienced guide Mr Shyam who's very famous among foreign and domestic tourists along with the first guard Ayyapan who is a tribal member too. You've got to take the permission from the first office that was... More

Best among Tropical Drydecidous Forest, thorny shrub jungle, shola forest and grass land, receives very little rainfall throughout the year. Yet, this is a habitat of the endangered giant grizzled squirrel of India, elephants, spotted deer, sambar and hanuman monkeys. It is located in the rain shadow area of the Western Ghats, unlike other sanctuaries in Kerala. ich in wildlife,... More

We went to the wildlife park in the afternoon (around 2pm). It took around an hour and a half to reach from Munnar Town by taxi. If you get motion sickness, sit at the front of the taxi for the ride as the roads to Chinnar are incredibly narrow and windy. When we arrived, we were informed that we could... More

Chinnar is a very hilly and arid reserve but with many trees, December is not the best time to visit because the rainy season is some time back and most wildlife has moved on (we saw recent elephant dung but not elephants!) so we didn't see many animals but we had a lovely guided walk and enjoyed the scenery. From... More

As I entered inside, I could hear sounds of wild animals. I was frightened but there was no escape. I went through some of... More
