It is a very nice historical fort to visit if you are in the area but needs more maintenance or a good entrance fee to control the foot traffic. The place gives you one of the best views of Junagadh or Girnar temple/peak; the vavs inside the fort are also must visit.

We visited this place after the festival of Maha Shiv Ratri was over, Historical place, decently maintained, there were some spice vendors, good price and fresh. There is another site of several story step well, and legend is that two sisters sacrificed their lives for good of the community. History was well narrated by a local guide.

On the way to Gir, you can spend an hour or less to visit the place, step well, temples and dusty not maintained gardens all you can see. A lot needs to be done to make it inviting to tourists.

Uperkot is of historical significance, monuments are dispersed, you have to walk a little bit to cover them, some monuments are in fairly good condition.

Not easy to find but worth it! The stepwell is very impressive and the large building (?) is wonderful inside and on the roof. Few signs but clean, quite tidy and full of interested locals.
