Fantastic experience. did not expect such a beautiful sight. management of the gondola is excellent, clean and well maintained premises. would love to do the whole trek some time, in better weather, but this ropeway has surely made it very convenient to visit Mt. Girnar

Firstly, this is a review of the Girnar ropeway only, not the overall Girnar experience, since that is well-reviewed already. We visited Girnar on a particularly busy Sunday in the Christmas week of Dec 2021. I'd read some scary stories of the queues and mismanagement at the Girnar ropeway. However, compared to that, our actual experience was quite pleasant. The queue was long but well-managed. It took us half an hour to board the ropeway. One big irritant is the sham of 'No-plastic-bottles' in the cable car, on the premise that Girnar is a no-plastic zone. Forcing the ropeway riders to discard their mineral water bottles when the same is freely sold all along the hills is totally ridiculous and illogical.

That aside, the cable car converts the tiring 3-4 hour trek (on the way up) into a comfortable 8 min ride to the Ambaji temple, thus making the yatra accessible to a host of people. Also, taking the cable car on the way up and the steps on the descent is a real possibility, and a good balanced mid-way option of not tiring out the body too much and yet maintaining a semblance of having done a yatra (or at least half of it).

Neat and clean entrance, systemic staff, proper facilities, takeoff like a plane, smooth ride, before time on the top... It was like a dream.

Very well managed ropeway service for Girnar mountain in Junagadh. Operated privately by a company which manages many ropeways in India. A place to be MUST visited when going at Junagadh.

Some points for Girnar Ropeway are as under:
- Current charges are Rs. 700 per person, to and fro both.
- Heavy traffic on festivals
- Go for weekdays and avoid weekends for traffic.
- Kids above 5 and below 10 have half ticket price
- 9 minutes to reach the top where there is temple of MAA AMBA
- One of the longest ropeways in India
