White dessert is dried up lake with top salt layer, miles of white horizon. Nothing else.
In enclosed area is "Rann Utsav" festival tents for stay. Very expensive just for few shows camel ride to the white sand and food.
Near by visit to Black Mountain probably makes up for such a distant journey.
On Black Mountain hawkers and camel ride men will scare you to take camel as going up to. Top of the hill is laborious. IT IS VERY SHORT WALK about 50 meters . Camel ruse us z rip off unless one wants to try out Camels
Free Vegetarian lunch is served by the temple on the hill. We just gave some donation as don't like to eat food free.!

We visited white desert during our Kutch visit arranged by SPLENDID KUTCH, BHUJ.
This time desert has water everywhere as record-breaking rain was in Kutch this year, the water in deser not dried and we could not see any salt in the field, though the sight was beautiful. Worth to see when salt field in place of water in desert. We feeled splendid Kutch company has made our visit very pleasant as they suggested to halt at the desert to see sun set in desert and it was excellent scene.

Pleasant temperatures in night and bit hot but bearable in day, this place is a one of life time experience one must take.
I cannot define the unique feeling of seeing a 360 degree panorama view of the horizon.
There is nothing much to see as all sides look the same. A few photographs, location tags for social media.:)
It is indeed the calmness you can get, if you walk far away from the crowd. Listening to the breeze and the magic of nature.
Sunset is worth spending time here.
This place is quite far and needs a couple of hours drive from city and a private transport too.
In Short, I would personally visit maximum twice in lifetime to get this experience. :) But a must do.

Unbelievable scene. Never seen such vast expanse of land with not a single bush or shrub and only salt. Looks like out of this world. Absolutely beautiful experience at this place. A must visit for a nature lover. Also there is some scientific reason for such massive salt formation and how the water percolates to leave behind only salt after the monsoon. This place is full of water during monsoon, only 3-4 months of season during winter to visit this place and what a gem of a place. Look as far as you can and only see clean white salt and clean blue sky.

The white desert of Rann is a must visit and a once in a life time experience. It feels like the end of the world because of the endless expanse of salt. The sunset views are just amazing.
Be sure to carry warm clothing and good shoes as the area can be marshy sometimes.
The best time to visit this place is during a full moon

Its a beautiful place. We walked on the rann for quite some distance. Stay back to watch the sunset which is an amazin sight. No need to stay back overnight, unless you want to spend money in the overpriced tents nearby.

It is good to visit white rann once in life.
It’s totally different experience to see it. It’s 89 km from Bhuj. Better to travel by own car. You can also have helicopter ride there to see white rann. Best time to visit is January & February month.

We visited at evening time to watch the sunset, it was beautiful. Camel ride and camel carts available for ride. If you visit on a full moon day in the evening then it will be a different experience altogether.

Hi, we are planning a 6 or 7 night trip that'll include Rann of Kutch. Can you please suggest which other places can we visit? We are 2 families, all adults. One family comes from overseas and we all are looking forward to taking them to Rann.
Thanking you in advance.

Sight seeing in Bhuj, Dholavira, KalaDunger, Mandvi beach can be combined. Add one day for each

Your question is totally irrelevant. You must mention the country, location, no. of travellers etc...
Yet, I will inform...
1. In UAE, Oman, Qatar gulf countries, you are allowed to stay in tent accommodations arranged by locals, they arrange desert safari tours that include food, transportatin and accommodation, better contact them.
Staying in your own tents is difficult, you need to get permission from the local bodies, safety, raptiles are very frequent, and durning emergencies, it could be difficult to get even a first aid.

my suggestion would be only if you are around Bhuj city, you can visit to have a look, but there will no facility to stay around also not sure if Police will issue permit to visit white desert during October month, but if you are making exclusive plan to visit white desert please book only for November

I will be visiting rann on 29 th December, will it be fully formed, will be staying at hodka, can we enjoy rann utsav if not staying at govt tent city
Written 19 December 2019
I am not sure about the rann though locals were reassuring that it will be dry in two weeks. You can attend rann utsav even if ware not staying there. All the resorts near by have contacts and they will take you there. May charge or maybe included in the package you have selected

Hi, I'm planning to visit Kala Dungar and white Rann on 21st Jan. I will be starting from Bhuj in the morning and returning back to Bhuj after watching the moonrise. Can anyone suggest me the most economical way of covering this?
Also, I'm traveling solo and would be glad to pool in with other fellow travellers from Bhuj, if possible.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi, do check on Moonrise time. White desert are genraly shuts by 8pm for security reasons.Hence if you have moonrise early it'll be good, else give it a skip. the raods are fabulous but not advisable for nights. better to travel in a group/hire car. Bike is only a day trip. Visit Kala dungar first. White desert is better in evening & night.
