Great views and amazing setting and natural beauty. We witnessed morning sunrise (6.30am) and evening sunset (6.45pm).

The sunrise and sunset are an incredible experience but the whole hype around visiting it on a full moon night was overrated. if you can visit on a full moon night well and good but it doesn't merit putting any extra efforts.

Nature providing a natural unmatched scenery with unexplainable vastness combined with accessibility... Pleasing for the eyes. But be careful in wet areas

cannot imagine the wide never ending expanse of white crystalline salt. the most amazing time to visit is on a full moon night when the crystals shine in the moon light

It was on my list since we were planning for trip post lockdown. The place is pure white n amazing, best view is to see the dessert in night, it feels like moon is touching the white dessert and it's so bright even at 3 am.

Must visit place whenever anyone plans for trip.

Rode on my "Royal Enfield Bullet 350" from Mumbai to Dhordo, a distance of approx 900 Kms by road. On Tuesday(26/1/2021) on Republic day of India reached "Dhordo at 1330 hrs. Dhordo is approximately 95 Kms from Madhapur village near Bhuj. The " Rann Festival 2020-21" began on 1st November 2020 and would end on 28th February 2021.At 1445 hrs the crowd seemed sparse at the main entrance gate but most important fact was that "COVID -19" Pandemic that was ravaging the World and India was unsuccessful in closing this iconic unique natural phenomenon festival.Had to get my entry gate pass scanned at the entrance and after checking my ticket was allowed to enter the "Rann Utsav Festival " grounds situated at the entrance of the " WHITE SAND DESERT".The residential tent city camps were erected on the outer boundary of the main Rann Utsav Festival venue.Beautiful to the human eye.It was a short ride along a narrow central road decked with flag decorations from the main entrance gate to the entrance to the " White Desert".Awesome decor and ambiance with the first sight of the " WHITE DESERT" shocking me with delight .First parked my bike and later strolled towards the edge of the main" Rann Utsav " venue where the paved road ends and the Great Rann of Kutch White Desert began. The desert ground adjacent to the cemented Rann Utsav avenue was lined with camels, camel carts, pony's and a few local Kutch artists singing songs and dressings tourists in local Kutch attire for photo shoots.I ventured far from the main venue ground onto the glistening white sand desert and honestly haven't seen a panorama of this magnitude. As the crowd was minuscule felt I was alone in the midst of a white carpet of salt desert that resembled snow.Filmed photo's and video's and later approached a local troupe of Kutchi folk artists who were also offering pony rides for a photo shoot of me sitting on a pony. This was one of the few locales in the World let alone India where salt was the terrain firma and not mud, cement, grass etc..Later in the evening after flying a kite watched "SUNSET" and a "FULL MOON" rise on the white desert.Visit once in your lifetime.

Awesome place to visit beautiful sunset and moon rise

Advice :-
1.lonely roads carry sufficient drinking water and petrol in stock
2.watch out on your driving speed and avoid evening rides at any cost ,buffalo menace.
3.ride during jan and feb as water dries in to salt and tht is when u see the White Runn or White Dessert

Beautiful is not enough to describe it . I feel the tourism should market it more and more as it is worth a visit . The roads have been developed and so the drive is beautiful, scenic . Not many stopover points . The sand was really white and shimmers at night . Don't miss the camel ride . Watched the cultural program for sometime and drove back .the programs were well organised and worth the visit along with the salt sand . The accomodation is too costly and I feel it is nit value for money . Probably being seasonal they have kept it so . Tourism should promote more investment into accokodaruon there and improve on travel options . Like Amitabh bachan says , been to this area and not been to white dessert means not been here . So it is a must visit spot and there is no need to stay over though it is beautiful to . We drove from Kandla so it is about two and half hours only . The food court is not very appetising but if you travel all the way there you have to eat something . That needs a lot of work and the exhibition area for local art and culture is well set and is worth the visit .On the way one should miss the visit to kalo dungar ( black hills ) , another scenic and beautiful place to visit . overall we enjoyed a lot and would love to visit again

Stand in the white desert and wonder how nature works to get this done...!! When does the saltwater come in and when does it leave...to let the salt deposit on the sea/lake bed and dry by the time the tent city is set up...
