A beautiful place, feel a magnificent vibes of white desert.
Best time to go in evening when you can enjoy sunset also.
We were reach at entry gate at 6 pm and ticket booking office was closed and they have asked us book online.
After a 15minutes of struggle with internet in that area, finally we have booked tickets online and border army has given permission to visit white desert.
So we reached little bit late in evening but we enjoyed lot and wonderful view of Sun set seen.
If you can go early or in morning you can enjoy cart safari in white desert.
Even though, it's beautiful place, If u have not seen white desert in Gujarat then u have not seen anything.
Must go , Not too miss this place

When we're passing through the Road To Heaven, it was indeed a feeling as though we're on a 'Road to Heaven'.. White salt on the sides, blue sky above and a long straight road ahead..

Difficult to reach and while it has some charm I wouldnt do it again. Heavy on crowds, camel drivers and chaos.

White dessert is dried up lake with top salt layer, miles of white horizon. Nothing else.
In enclosed area is "Rann Utsav" festival tents for stay. Very expensive just for few shows camel ride to the white sand and food.
Near by visit to Black Mountain probably makes up for such a distant journey.
On Black Mountain hawkers and camel ride men will scare you to take camel as going up to. Top of the hill is laborious. IT IS VERY SHORT WALK about 50 meters . Camel ruse us z rip off unless one wants to try out Camels
Free Vegetarian lunch is served by the temple on the hill. We just gave some donation as don't like to eat food free.!

Is a splendid experience to visit the White Desert. We saw the sunset and came back for sun-rise and both the experiences were magical.
Around the White desert itself, there are some adventure sports you can try - we did the ATV which was okay. It’s a 100 m two way self ride that can be done for 300 rupees. Additionally there is a air balloon and air bike that can be done with prices ranging from 1000-2500 per person.
Buses generally drop you at the parking spot which os a KM away from the viewing point - and this can be done either through a walk through the desert or camel / jeep rides. We did the Camel cart ride for 50/ per person.
At the watch tower (under Maintenace during our visit) the panoramic view of the White desert can be seen, and you are free to explore deeper into the desert - time permitting.
Tip : If exploring deeper into the desert, it’s quite soggy and slippery so recommend to wear shoes.

Overrated, dirty place , visited in December 1st week 22, a big lake of thin salt layer with black muck, over crowded , dirty, looks nothing like the advertisement. Wear gumboots if you really want to visit or wait till it all dries up in Feb.

Hi, we are planning a 6 or 7 night trip that'll include Rann of Kutch. Can you please suggest which other places can we visit? We are 2 families, all adults. One family comes from overseas and we all are looking forward to taking them to Rann.
Thanking you in advance.

Sight seeing in Bhuj, Dholavira, KalaDunger, Mandvi beach can be combined. Add one day for each
Can we stay in our tents in white desert? Is it allowed?

Your question is totally irrelevant. You must mention the country, location, no. of travellers etc...
Yet, I will inform...
1. In UAE, Oman, Qatar gulf countries, you are allowed to stay in tent accommodations arranged by locals, they arrange desert safari tours that include food, transportatin and accommodation, better contact them.
Staying in your own tents is difficult, you need to get permission from the local bodies, safety, raptiles are very frequent, and durning emergencies, it could be difficult to get even a first aid.

I am not sure about the rann though locals were reassuring that it will be dry in two weeks. You can attend rann utsav even if ware not staying there. All the resorts near by have contacts and they will take you there. May charge or maybe included in the package you have selected

Hi, I'm planning to visit Kala Dungar and white Rann on 21st Jan. I will be starting from Bhuj in the morning and returning back to Bhuj after watching the moonrise. Can anyone suggest me the most economical way of covering this?
Also, I'm traveling solo and would be glad to pool in with other fellow travellers from Bhuj, if possible.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi, do check on Moonrise time. White desert are genraly shuts by 8pm for security reasons.Hence if you have moonrise early it'll be good, else give it a skip. the raods are fabulous but not advisable for nights. better to travel in a group/hire car. Bike is only a day trip. Visit Kala dungar first. White desert is better in evening & night.
