It is a very amazing and fascinating place. It is difficult to believe and accept that sand can be so white. Although we visited during off season so did not see any special facilities for the tourist. So only visit during November to February months.

A place you must go when in town, just make sure you take lots of water and sun cream if you planning to in the hot months

When some part of hot arid Thar desert turns white, it grabs the attraction of travelers. Seasonal salt marsh area of Kutch region spread over northern Gujarat and Sindh province of Pakistan during the months of September to march every year. Best visited from Bhuj city of Gujarat and every year Gujarat govt arranges the Rann utsav to showcase their... More

We spent about three hours at the white desert, luckily our hotel was close by, but the crowds are maddening. Crowd management is amazingly well handled by the CRPF. Having said that one must experience this wonder called the White Desert. Very unique & we were spell bound by the beauty all around

You need to pay a small fee to enter the White Rann, which can be done at the entrance of the Rann. Once you enter, there are buses which take you about a kilometer into the Rann. As we visited the Rann during the Rann Utsav, it was quite crowded. We had to walk for quite a bit to get... More

Must visit in November to February when Rann Utsav is held by Tourism Department. One day visit is ok or stay overnight if one wishes to see the Rann in moonlit night.Vast expanse of white sand is to be seen to believe. It is awesome to imagine that entire white sand becomes water owing to melting of salt crystals-yes it... More

The area is very interesting both because of the white desert and its location sandwiched between India and Pakistan. The desert itself is a white desert, it can offer some stunning views at sunset, sunrise and on a full moon. The salt crystals sparkle under the full moon which is something to see. The security is a few kilometers from... More

A permit, against a small fee and photo ID, needs to be collected from the entrance point to the Rann. During the Rann Utsav, which is between November toFebruary, cars are stopped at the entrance and one can either walk 3 km on a concrete road or take a camel cart, to reach the watch tower and the start point...
