The place is an old style building where in one of the entrance lobbies are the traditional blue and white painted ceramic tiles. An ok visit if your in the area.

The Institute Menezes Braganza is named after one of the most prominent freedom fighters of Goa. A beautiful building, located just off Panjim's main DB Road, it today houses a number of government offices and departments.
The building is right next to Azad Maidan and the state police headquarters. The entrance showcases a bust of Memzes Braganza. The best part, however, are the lovely paintings on the inner walls of the building, which depicts artwork done by the Portuguese. One can admire these for around 10-15 minutes, beyond which there is nothing more to do.

Drop in if you happen to be in the vicinity. The heritage building is quite stately, and it also houses the Police Headquarters next door. The entrance hall has an impressive tiled interior. A translation would have been helpful, as also a note on the history of the building and a bit about Mr. Braganza himself.

We would liked to have found somebody who could have translated the writings that were with the tiles, think it could be old Portuguese

This is not a major attraction as such. It is a 2 storeyed old building of Portuguese time situated almost in the middle of Panaji, which has been recently renovated & houses 2 function halls on the first floor in which there are various functions held throughout the year. On the ground floor, there was the Central Library of Goa before renovation, but now this library area has been converted to Government offices. Only the lobby of the building is artistic with some mosaic paintings on its walls & a statue in the center. Anyways, one can go here while walking though Panaji to take a look at the lobby & at the antique Portuguese architecture of the building.

Piece of an art on Azulezos tiles by Portuguese painter Jorge Colaco based on famous Portuguese poet Luis Vaz de Camoes depicting Portuguese voyages in the 15th and 16th century is simply one of the fabulous work of art at this institute. When one visits many Goan Houses, you are welcomed by Blue Tiles on the walls and often served in Blue Porcelain crockery, which is considered as prime possession.

Not a good enough attraction as such. Only the lobby of this building is artistic with some mosaic paintings on its walls & a statue in the center. An avoidable place.
