During my visit to Goa on the last day, I went to see the Goa Science Centre. Its very neat and clean with seperate department like marine, engineering. It is located at 1.5 kms from miramar beach and centre is surrounding with totally greenery. There are other activities too like light show. But due to lack of time, I could not see.

It can be visited, if and only if you have small kids. Its very basic science museum. I have visited many science centers in India and this is like the most basic of them all. So if you are with small kids, then its a good fun to visit during hot sunny noon time, when u cant be at beach.

When we went, that time, roads were under construction, so we had to walk around 1/2 mile to get here but its okay.

Inside, all basic science exp n stuff are there but do not expect ANYTHING from shows. Thats just waste. Can be in the main science sections for 2+ hrs till kids can go through each experiment.

Again it will be nicer, more interesting if kids r below 12yrs age. Its very good option for them during hot sun and since its right at the beach with lots of swings etc, when sun is down, can go back to water n sand!!

Goa is just not for beaches and alcohol.... it has nicely maintained science center as well, various scientific games, appliances will make you feel in ahead of generation and time !! Takes around 2 hrs for complete experience. the 3D show and Planetarium Show is just amazing.... Go for it if you're going to GAO !

I've also updated website details can go through it....

& Yes, if you feel my review is helpful do not forget to cast a vote saying "Yes" at the end of the review.

During my solo visit, I first ventured into the science section and ambled through various live exhibits covering everything from the deep oceans to the solar system. The place was teeming with chatty junior school students, who were trying their hands eagerly on all moving objects.

Continuing on, I noticed that a 3D movie on the dinosaur era was being screened and I decided to give it a try. I was sorely disappointed with the loud audio and hazy visuals. These compelled me to leave the hall midway.

Next, I checked out the scheduled show in the planetarium. After sitting inside for a few minutes, I observed that the periphery of the dome was decorated with shadow panoramas of Miramar, Dona Paula and other places in Panjim!

Now for the show itself: I come from a science background, and in my opinion, the projection quality and content were both below par. Instead of running the same legacy script over and over again, year after year, the planetarium can get creative by producing and releasing updated content that serves to educate the general public about the latest discoveries in space!

For all the fees that it charges, the science centre does not provide sufficient inspiration for modern educated adults. Like many other science centres throughout the country, the Goa edition is also in dire need of a makeover for the 21st century. Located on prime real-estate in Miramar, the Centre still houses childish attractions like the cage-wire Tyrannosaurus Rex!

We landed at this place when were were searching for something else. We decided to go in since it was pretty hot outside :).

It is very close to the Miramar beach. Lot of equipment outside seems to be in disrepair. They have a 3D show and a planets show - but shows are not bad. But if you have seen similar shows outside India (US, Singapore, etc.) you will be disappointed.

There is no cafeteria. There there is a small shop-like thing near the ticket counter - we were able to buy ice cream there.

Some exhibits were very nice. he tickets are reasonably priced. Plenty of parking space is available.

Really bad. Even a Youtube video plays better video than their crappy setup. Paid Rs.60 for this 10 minute nonsense.

This is actually a boring science park now and hardly people visit it. It shows you all scientific theories like how waves are formed, how the earth moves around its axis ect. It was fun because of the 3d theatre there were they would show you small scientific clips untill Inox started showing 3D movies :p

A good place to go if you are visiting goa with a child. The outdoor science exhibits have corroded. The indoor games are somehow functioning. The mirror place is good. If busy give this place a miss.

This place should be included in your itinerary if there are children in your group.
In the main hall where applied science/ physics related exhibits were displayed, I found the sand dune box (where one can see how sand dunes are actually created in a desert), apparatus with steel balls depicting how potential energy is transformed to kinetic energy rather interesting. More like a brush up of our 10 std physics.
A 3D film show showing the impacts of human intervention in nature was good. It had three sections catering to global warming, fishing/ poaching and deforestation. All of it shows the serene natural life and the inhabitants in their natural setting being affected by humans. Being a 3D show, it was very interesting.
