Jail, Fort and journey through Goa’s Freedom Struggle
The fort was converted into a jail to house the people who participated in Goa’s Freedom Movement. Now it is a museum that showcases how the people were treated, history of the movement and notable names. The view from outside is breathtaking as the fort is built atop a small steep hill overlooking the sea . The climb to the Fort is a steep one so avoid wearing heels or sandals. There is a parking at the base where you can also buy entry ticket. Please take a guide available from the ticket counter only for a detailed tour

    Fort with a vantage view
You would "feel the history" if you knew the story of the fort and got up to its watch tower. This fort feels special, especially considering the vantage view when we reach up the tower. There is a climb up some steep paths but not strenuous. The canons have serial numbers and dates. Some support platforms have broken, nevertheless, the display is significantly intact showcasing the old history. The adjacent display area talks about the history of Goa's independence.

    Must visit in Goa
Excellent ….. beautifully restored fort in Goa…. I also visited Fort Aguada and Chapora fort in Goa, but this fort is the best…. There are some cannons out there, rooms that were used as prison cells…. Fort overlooks beautiful Mandovi river…. It is a must visit site….

    Good visit, nice views
A quiet but historic fort. Well maintained, the staff at the reception issuing ticket was very friendly. Was humid and sweating in May end. Carry your umbrellas and water bottles. Could be nice place to click good photos as well. The photos and information inside on the buildings have some good insight into Goa’s freedom struggle and independence and the key personalities. Unfortunately even though I am from south India, many of the information were new to me. One can spend an hour here easily. Worth visiting.

This beautiful Fort has been recently renovated and a classic instance of Portugese style.
A perfect place for photography with background view of Indian Ocean.

Amazing fort at awesome location is one word for it. It is situated right next to the water body and plenty of parking also available. We went on a weekday hence it was not crowded at all. Lot spots inside for amazing pics.

Built in 1493 and therefore much older than the famous Fort Aguada, Reis Magos is a must-see for history buffs.

The entry ticket is ₹50 for adults & there is a steep climbing in case there are elders, might be a painful for them. The view from the fort is beautiful, with view or the sea and the coconut trees. Also, the coco beach for dolphins view is also another attraction close by to the fort.
