Fontainhas is the well preserved heritage of the Portuguese era. All houses along the street are colourfully bright and it also has the oldest bakery. After all it was the Portuguese who introduced pao or poi in India.

Fontainhas has some old/new colorful houses but then it doesn't look so attractive because of parking and all residential area. I would give it a skip if not around.

Have been going to Panaji all my life as we are originally from Goa, but had never actually visited this area. This time around we were pleasantly surprised to see the beauty of this locality. The old buildings are extremely well preserved and a cynosure of the eyes. The lanes are narrow and need to keep your vehicle some distance... More

Houses are in mix of Konkan and Portuguese style. Enjoy a walk here. The lanes will make you feel as if you are in some European village.

Strolling the old quarter of Fontainhas will make you like being back at its colonial past. Old Portugues buildings, plenty of restaurants and cafès, shops for those who like shopping. Definitely worth a trip to Panjim,

I think you have to put this area into context. Old Portuguese Pamjim it is not. Whilst many of the buildings undoubtedly have age, some actually date back to the 18th and 19th century. A lot have been restored in the style and colors of the colonials but many are reconstructions in the same style. There are also a lot... More

Fontainhas in Panji is like being in the Disneyland of architecture. You get lost in the coulourful hues of old houses of Goa. IT is advisable to read up a couple of blogs to see what all locations one needs to see. The notable locations are the our lady of immaculate conception church, an old post office, Velha goa gallery,... More
