This expedition was offered as a tour on the cruise - its a short bus trip. Once there in addition to many types of live butterflies, there were some exotic birds and snakes - and they let you hold some of these to get your adrenaline flowing. It was a bit expensive for the tour ticket we bought but overall... More

We spent about 45 minutes here on our Island bus tour. It was interesting to learn about the butterflies and how they look after them. There is plenty of things to see: monkeys, parrots, toucans native animals to Roatan etc. The staff here is extremely knowledgeable and informative. Not sure if it is a rescue sanctuary but it appears everything... More

Nice little place but go there without expectation and please don't book in advance or with a tour...its 4 to 5 times the real price at the entrance...

It is not the largest or best wildlife park, but when you are on Roatan, you must still stop by and see it. Our guide seemed eager to tell us about the place and it actually seemed the animals had a good lifes (as much as you can here).

We went on an excursion which took in this place plus the rum cake factory, a botanical garden and a lunch / shopping opportunity at West End of Roatan (the latter 2 being pretty much a blowout due to a downpour). The butterfly gardens were the highlight and, on reflection, I wish we'd stayed here a bit longer. It's obviously... More

The tour was very educational and the guide was great. The butterfly area was smaller than I'd thought, and we didn't see all the butterflies mentioned because of the season. There were also macaws that would climb onto your arm for a photo op that were not in a cage. The area between the monkey enclosures and the butterfly enclosures... More

We visited Honduras as part of our cruise. Our original trip was cancelled so we opted for this. The taxi cost $40 each (this is for the day, there is no option for just an hour etc). Entrance was $10 each. The butterfly garden isn't really a garden but a small zoo where animals are kept in small enclosures with... More
