This attraction was the reason I went to Coban. It was well worth the trip from Coban to Lanquin (approximately 2.5 hours). The hike was long and steep. It was totally worth it for the view at the top. I'd recommend getting water in town...More

The national park is awesome and you have to do the Cave too. One of the best experience in my life. It is worth the distance from the city.

The road to get to this gem is extremely rocky and quite the challenge. You wouldn't even know these natural pools exist, they're quite hidden. Once arriving at the park, we did a 30 min hike up to the mirador, where you can see the...More

Great activity to break away from hostel life. The caving experience , swing and bridge jump were absolutely brillant. Water shoes are a must for the caves!!

If you're in Guatemala this is a MUST see. We did the full day tour which did everything - Caving (not for the faint hearted but awesome), rope swing (again not for the health and safety peeps but flipping awesome), tubing down the river (although...More

I had the best experience in Semuc Champey. I went with a tour organized by El Muro hostel and that was the best choice. The guides they have are freaking good and they made the day. They are so knowledgeable and fun: Pepe and Plata....More

This place is stunning and absolutely worth visiting! A few tips... 1. Dont book an all inclusive tour from whatever city you are departing from (Antigua, Guatemala City or Flores). You will see these advertised in many travel agencies as a 3 day 2 night...More

This sure has earned its name as Guatemala's playground. It is the most beautiful place to enjoy the views and relax in this wonderful country.

About 10 hours.
My boyfriend and I are heading to Gautemala in June this year and are contemplating whether to hire a car and drive from Antigua to Semuc Champey to Tikal over a week, or whether we should take a bus or shuttle. Any suggestions regarding whether this drive is doable? We have travelled a lot and feel pretty confident driving most roads in most countries and we prefer self-travel, however I have read mixed reviews about driving in Guatemala. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
