Since excavation works continue not many parts are visible to the public, however, the nearby buildings seemed to bring hope that in the nearest future, the place could become more interesting, educational, and informative for tourists.
Currently, there is the possibility to see the church, as well as some of the recent results from restauration works. There is, however, a lack of information about what can be seen.

It is a little hard to find this place but worth the effort despite the lack of information which is a little frustrating I admit. Touts offer their services for a few Euros to show you around of you so choose. The Church itself is lovely - it looks similar to other orthodox churches but they are all different and have their own charm, as does this one.

The church is open and you can wander a little around the excavations but most of the excavations are unreachable.

Church looks the same as any other churches in Ohrid, but they charge you to visit it. Although the staff gave us a discount for the tickets because we were nice to him, I don't think this place deserve to charge for tickets.
There's no information panel about the place, neither in Macedonian nor in English. That's why there are some people outside Plaošnik offering a guide service for 5 euros. We didn't hire them. We were confused when local people are queuing up and worshipping something inside the church. We are curious and want to know more. There's no person nor information panel explaining to us what we are supposed to do there. We wanted to follow their customs and do what we're "supposed to do", but we can't because we don't know what we're supposed to do. We left the place after 5 minutes. It was a total waste of ticket money. Nice walk if it was for free, but would not recommend going inside if it charges money.

This site was very disappointing. It costs 100 MKD per person. There is no signage, information or staff, so we still have no idea what this site even was, or how old it was etc. Much of the site was also roped off, including one of the two mosaics. It's a real shame because there is clearly something interesting here. Perhaps try reading up online before you go in order to get something out of your visit!

Not only can you view the church (much was destroyed by the Ottomans, who turned it into a mosque — since rebuilt) but the surrounding area has been settled for nearly 3000 years. So, quite a bit of history to soak in. Needs a guide. Signage is sparse to say the least. Excellent views.

Plaoshnik, Early Christian Basilica, and Tomb of Turbe Sinan Leelebi are all located here, in front of Saint Climent of Ohrid. The entry fee is 100 dinara. The archaeological historical site, dating back to the 8th century BC, with artefacts discovered from the Hellenistic culture, as well as from the Roman and early Christian times. It's still being excavated, so it's a work in progress.

The most peaceful outlook over Lake Ohrid, this beautiful Byzantine (Eastern Orthodox) church is perched up on the hill in Old City Park with magical views.
Ohrid is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so the church is also protected by UNESCO.
The church is a replica of the old church of St. Panteleimon, built by St. Clement of Ohrid in 863, demolished by the Ottomans. The construction of the present church was completed in 2002.
Archaeologists have come to believe that the church is located on the site where the first students of the Glagolitic alphabet (used to translate the Bible into Old Church Slavonic) were taught into the First Bulgarian Empire.
Only a short 10 minute walk from the old city, up a small hill, easily accessible for everyone to visit.
A small fee to enter, 100 denar (€1.60) each, local guides are available for a donation to soak up the knowledge of Ohrid and the history of the attraction. There is also a mosque on the site and a university being built.
It is very calming and well maintained, and a perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the view. You can also enter the church and there is a small gift shop inside to purchase souvenirs.
Best add the old ancient theatre and Samuel's Fortress to your walking tour, as they are all 10 minutes from each other, and all have the most wonderful views of Ohrid and full of rich history.

Plaošnik is a complex of archeological and religious sites situated near the Ohrid's Fortress. It is considered to be one of the most important archeological sites in Macedonia, due to the number of artefacts found in this place. The Church of Saints Clement and Panteleimon has been rebuilt in 2002 on the place where it is considered to have previously been situated. It is the home of Saint Clement's remains. Around the Church itself it is possible to visit many archeological excavations at the place of Plaošnik. If you're visiting Ohrid, do visit this interesting place!

Having been a return visitor to Ohrid for a few years now, I'm surprised that the land surrounding Plaosnik is still something of a building site. That doesn't detract from an impressive interior though, despite it being a touch short of information to explain the history of the place to layman visitors.
Worth a look all the same - especially if you have time to spare in Ohrid.
