Both beautiful during the day and night, I came here to check out the colonial architecture as well as the craftsman ship of the era.
I sat in one of the pews as the light came through the stained glass window and just allowed myself to breath in the r history.
How many people have come here over the years? What were their stories? What happened to the church during the civil war?
Time for even more research.
Do check this out both day and night. Well worth it.

This church is not far from ‘Pupuseria Nenita’, a great place to sample El Salvador’s popular pupusa.
Suchitoto is a hot place so visit the church early or late if possible.

The church has been rehabbed with support from the Spanish government. The results are very impressive. The woodwork really stands out. A lot of it is intricately designed and is original.
A must-see sight if you’re in Suchitoto.

Visited on Palm Sunday inside between two of the four masses they have on this day. Very beautiful and peaceful inside. And the plants outside add to the serenity. This is the focal point of the community.

Had Mass at this wonderful church in Suchitoto. Located beside the Park, its Colonial style is very nice. Well preserved and maintained. A true gem in Suchitoto.

The restoration of this work is marvellous. The outside is painted but the inside is beautiful. I saw it when it was in a very poor condition, The restoration of the columns and the ceiling is very good.
The only thing I regret is there is not more attention paid to the tomb of Padre Rafael Palacios in the Sacred Heart Chapel. At times the stone with engraving is hidden by the alter or a prayer stool. There is also nothing about his life.
