Lots of pigeons, a few iguanas. They’re not everywhere. Someone is likely to be there trying to sell you lettuce to feed them. They hang out on the ground and in the trees and seem very tame. But I think they tend to hang out only in a certain area. The park itself is quite small, but has interesting sculptures and trees.

Church has a French influence - outside the church there is an “iguana park” with iguanas of all shapes and sizes hanging out there. You can get some good close up photos of iguanas. You won’t need any more than 20 min to stop and see the church and iguanas.

The best time to visit the park is in the afternoon. Then you can encounter vendors that are selling fresh salad, specially prepared for the iguanas. Their presence involves a new day of easily acquired food, so the reptiles get down from the trees, gather around the benches, and wait to be fed.

Sometimes live music is played in this park. In the park lots of Leguans can be seen and turtles. The park is right in front of the cathedral which is also interesting.

Iguana Park has iguanas lying on tree branches, on the grass and walking across the stone paths. They will let you feed them and some can be seen begging. It’s a photo op, 15 minutes captures the scene.

This is a fun place to spend 30 minutes. You are not supposed to pick up the Iguanas but many people do. It is convient they habitate this park and you do not have to search for them. They are used to the attention and do not run too far. Very busy public place. Watch out for pickpockets. There are lots of police there. Fun place and worth drive there !!

This pretty little park, flanked by the Cathedral, provides a home to countless iguanas! If you want to get close up and personal with these reptiles this park is a must! It’s like a Jurassic Park for mini dinosaurs!

This is the place to come to see the iguanas. Okay, this is one of the few places in the city where I encountered hawkers and hustlers bothering you for City Tours etc but it all felt fairly low key and and not at all intimidating.
