Quite aside from its history, this 15th-century castle/fortress is also interesting because of its imposing architecture. However, its juxtaposition with a football pitch tends to dilute the imagination as to what life there might once have been like.
The castle/fortress was locked up tighter than a drum when I was there [January 2022], but a peek through the keyhole suggested that the interior was nothing special: a rather rundown open courtyard with a staircase going up to walkways around the walls.
Certainly lovely to look at the exterior, especially on a bright sunny day!

At the end of the Riva in Trogir you come across this fortress which dates back to the 15th century. It’s not very big but the exterior walls are pretty complete There did not seem to be a lot inside other than the opportunity for view the old town and surrounds from a height so we chose to get our view from the Cathedral’s bell tower. That being said its worth a look, even for the outside.

Dominating the end of the island on which Trogir's old city is located, the fort is closed for the season. So, you cannot go inside right now. But it is still worth a visit simply for pictures of and with the outer walls. Somewhat frustrating for tourists, there is a soccer field right next to the fortress making it hard to take complete pictures but that is not a big deal!! Visit. It is worth it.

Fascinating mid-15th century castle located off the Adriatic in the town of Tragir. The view from the top of the fortress was amazing. I could see how beautiful Trogir is from the 360 degrees view. About a 10 to 15 minute tour of the castle, I then strolled a short distance to restaurant row along the boardwalk. Pick a place to sit near the water and experience why it’s known as Croatian Venice!

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL FORTRESS.. it looks amazing and is the symbol of Trogir... however there is nothing inside, nothing.
You can walk the ramparts..
It is €5 per person and we walked the ramparts, took photos and we were out in 5 mins...
Felt a bit cheeky asking for an entrance fee to be honest

It is situated at the end of Trogir's Promenade and the entry is Euro 5/person. The lady at the ticket office said it has narrow steep stairs so because I had knee problem only my husband went in. There is nothing to see inside but from the top is great view on the old town, opposite island Ciovo and generally all around.

This is a partially ruined fortification next to the old town of Trogir. There are some nice views from the walls but you cannot climb to the top of the tower and there isn't anything there except the walls. It is work a stop if you have the time and don't mind paying for the ticket but there are far better views, fortresses, and castles if you are limited on time or money.

Fortress Kamerlengo is located in a.side in the old town of Trogir, a Venetian-style town near Split, in Dalmatian Coast. It is a very nice and little fortress, which you can visit and especially go up to the some towers. From here, you can see very nice views of the old town and the sea. Really very beautiful.

First thing we did was visit the Fortress Kamerlengo. You will climb up the stairs and follow the perimeter walls where you will wait for other tourists to clear the way for you to take pictures. The views are quite nice and the visit is not too expensive. No exhibits of interests inside. Would make a great venue for a trance party though.

Average visit, worth a picture or two. Move on.

Unfriendly cashier as well as too high entrance fee. The view from the tower of the fortress is magnificent - but that is the only highlight. The area itself is not worth seeing. The fortress did not live up to our expectations.
If you want to pay a lot of money for a great view, go for it.
However, I do not recommend the visit.

Does anyone know how late the Kamerlengo Fortress is open? I will be visiting Split in late September and don't know if I'll be able to get there during the daylight. If it closes after dark, is it still possible to climb to the top or at least walk around the exterior? Thanks for any info you can share!
