Waterfall is beautiful. Amazing colours of the water in the lakes. Hues of green and blue. There will be many people here, so try to come early.

Every nook and corner of this national park is interesting. This place is a paradise for nature lovers. The Veliki is the highest waterfall in this park and is situated at the lower end of the park near enterance No. 1.

Go to Valiki slap/Big waterfall directly after entering the Plitvice Park. We took park bus (included in patk price) from Station 2 to 1 and then followed track B. Go very early in the morning 7.30 -8.00 am to avoid the crowd.

If you are near Plitvice Lakes you should not avoid them because big waterfall is something you must see. You can not get to close because you will be wet, but being near something so beautiful is amazing.

The Veliki Slap is the biggest waterfall in the park, but don't go in expecting a massive Niagara Falls type situation. There isn't much water cascading down this waterfall, but the lake it descends into is absolutely beautiful and the entire scene is gorgeous. It's...More

yes, quite safe and gently sloping for the most part where there are inclines... but there are no guard rails along some water edges so holding hands may be necessary!

That is peak season so the entry rate is at its highest, like around $10-12 per adult. I think I stayed in that same hotel and you can walk to one of the park entrances. There is a free shuttle to the other entrance.
