This waterfall is quite pretty - if in fact you get to see it without tours and crowds pushing in front of you. My advice is to go early in the morning and get there first

Loads of people looking at this one; major destination for the tour groups and queues for the ubiquitous group photos and selfies. Still, very impressive. Try to climb up the 300 steps to get to the observation points at the top - numbers 5 and...More

It is hard to discriminate between the lakes and waterfalls as they are all unique and beautiful. Try to see as much as you can.

It's the biggest one (that's what its name means) and the most amazing cause you can see what God does for us to enjoy!

We were blown away by this beautiful waterfall right in the beginning of the Plitvice nature park. You can see the lovely colors and there is space to take good pictures

The views of the waterfall are spectacular especially from the cliffs on the opposite side. The walk on the boardwalk up to the falls is not to be missed.

It was fantastic a place where you 'must" take a picture. I think that it will be nice to come back to Plitvice in order to admire all the beauties in details.

Nice to see, the best view is from the entrance 1, or come eary in the morning when it's still not crowded.

The best spot of the falls just that the crowds are really too much. But a must do must see spot! Overall breathtaking!

Hi Shelby. For sure you dont need any guided tour. There are various paths and choose the trail H and it will automatically cover most of the places you want to visit in Plitvice including Veliki Slap

yes, quite safe and gently sloping for the most part where there are inclines... but there are no guard rails along some water edges so holding hands may be necessary!

That is peak season so the entry rate is at its highest, like around $10-12 per adult. I think I stayed in that same hotel and you can walk to one of the park entrances. There is a free shuttle to the other entrance.
