    Loved the nature experience!
Visiting Krka National Park was part of our NCL Zadar port excursion. I loved it! It was an hour bus ride from Zadar port. There was a beautiful wooden path along the trail, which was easy to walk. Look out for wildlife. However, the end requires lots of steps to get out. No swimming! There is a food, drink and paid bathroom spot once you hit the waterfall. We had at least an hour and that was enough time.

Beautiful park but no swimming allowed
Fabulous to see the water falls. We booked boat from Skradin in advance but you could get an earlier return boat without any problem. Took a picnic and ate lunch with a fabulous view. Only disappointment is that you cannot swim in pools now at all. This isn’t clear and the official map still shows bathing pool. We swam post exiting park at Skradin beach which has clear cool water and shade .

    Beautiful
Beautiful. I went there driving then rented a bicycle. The waterfalls are amazing. The cycling is beautiful. It’s pricy as the ticket was 40 euros and the bicycle was for 20. But it’s worth it. Specially if you’ll spend the day and do a picnic there

    Beautiful waterfall
We loved and were very impressed by this waterfall, and glad we had the opportunity to see it. I reviewed the entire Krka NP experience as a whole in that entry, but to repeat a little, we felt our visit was well worth it, especially given that we visited later in the day in May, when it was busy but not crowded and entrance was only €15. We also knew before we went that swimming was no longer allowed. The waterfall (or set of cascades, however it's defined) is very beautiful, and the boardwalk/bridge is placed such that you get wonderful perspective on it and allows for great photos. I think this singular view was slightly better than any one view/waterfall we saw at Plitvice Lakes during our visit the following day, although I would call the lakes a more impressive experience than Krka when viewed overall.

    amazing
i thought this waterfalls and the way the boardwalk is set up is more amazing than Plitvice Lakes NP, but i guess each has its own charm. it reminds me a little of iguazu. there is also way more water and greenery at Skradinski Buk in March, compared to the waterfalls at Plitvice, so that may have impacted my overall impression too Use the Lozovac entrance as access. the entrance ticket is 7 euros, and you then walk 875 m downhill to the start of boardwalk. alternatively, you can ride the park bus down and up. i cant even imagine the trash and pollution that results from people swimming all over the place. best decision ever to ban swimming

We were so exited to swim in the waterfalls but it’s not allowed due to causing pollution ? This should be made very clear when it is booked but it was not.

Be prepared for a hot dusty walk so desperate to jump in the cool water … but no swimming allowed ! Still a very beautiful place to see

At first I thought Plitvice Lakes National Park is the fines scam and disappointment of Croatia in 2023 (see one star reviews, they're 100% spot on), but Krka Waterfalls beats it easily (Skradinski Buk, to be specific).

Okay, so you've read about the Krka Waterfalls, saw on the internet the numerous pictures of people swimming next to what appears to be a beautiful waterfall and crystal-clear water. You check the map - you see it's not that difficult to access. You rent a car, you go there, and this is where you get a biiig Croatian EFF.

So:

1) You can access the Skradinski Buk, which is the notorious Instagram swimming place, only by cashing out EUR 40 per person. We were two adults, so EUR 80. At this point, we got a first taste of some Croatian D here. Just like local Croatian people who likely can't afford to access this park for this ridiculous price.

2) You can NOT access Skradinski Buk by your rental car, so you have to walk about 1 hour to get there from the closest parking spot. You learn this by driving right up to the barrier where ticket office is at. BUT, conveniently enough (and like almost accidentally), right at entrance there's Bicycle rental, including E-bikes, which cost EUR 20 per piece. Nice, you would think. The taste of Croatian D is getting more intense - you either walk 1 hour, or you get to Skradinski Buk in 10 minutes for EUR 40 (two people).

3) So you buy two tickets (EUR 80), you grab two e-bikes (EUR 40), you get to the Skradinski Buk in 10 minutes. And what do you see? NO EFFING SWIMMING SIGNS all over the place. WOW.

4) Not only you can't swim next to the waterfall, for such ridiculous price, you also can't swim ANYWHERE behind the goddamn barrier where you leave your 80 EUR at, which is basically 1 hour walking radius from the waterfall in any direction. THIS IS EFFING RIVER, NOT A LAKE WHERE FECES BAKE IN SUN AND GIVE OFF BACTERIA.

5) Cars DO drive the road behind the barrier, the road you walk or drive with the rented bicycle. I don't know if it's staff or some preferential access given to gucci people, but the road is very dusty. When car passes, you get to breathe dust and all your clothes get dusty as well.

THE SOLE REASON PEOPLE WOULD GO THERE IS TO GET THE DAMN SWIM PICS, INCLUDING US. If you go for pics - forget the place! DO NOT GO THERE, just go to the city beach nearby for free and get a nice swim. The people managing the place don't deserve a cent of your money! Don't finance them, they're typical rent seekers. Just look at the pics / youtube videos of the waterfall for free and forget Skradinski Buk. They give off false advertising (most if not all online resources still mention swimming) and lie by omission.

So, it was a total disappoinment. Felt exactly like scams feel. Prices are jacked up for arguably ZERO value - it resembles a land grab and rent seeking. Artificually limited access to nature.

When we returned our ebikes, I asked the guy renting them out what's up with the "Swimming forbidden" signs. He said that since "Corona" swimming is not allowed, which is 4-5 years already. Goddamn 4 years have passed and it still is possible for a tourist to give off EUR 120 to get completely werecked with no refunds possible. THERE IS ZERO INFORMATION ABOUT the fact you can't swim at the ticket office, and zero warning when you hand them your 120 EUR at the entrance.

DO-NOT-GO.

Better go to Dubrovnik. The money spent buys you very good value in return. Plitvice Lakes and Krka Waterfalls are a SCAM and not worth it.

We visited the Skradinskl Buk waterfall, expecting to have a swim there. Posters showed people swimming there. This is however not allowed anymore.
The boat trip was ok, and it is very beautiful near the waterfall. Remember to bring plenty of water there, prices near the waterfall are very high.

Visiting the waterfall is a unique experience, even in the rain. The tour around the waterfall is well marked, even though it is necessary to be sure-footed to walk there.
