We were very lucky that he was able to fit us in along our drive from Zagreb to Rovinj and we had the best time watching him and his dogs do their thing. Nikola is friendly, knowledgeable in his trade, and his dogs are so friendly. They all gave an extremely interesting and memorable tour! We had an awesome guide who taught us and showed us the process of truffle hunting. Afterwards we were served a delicious truffle themed lunch with wine. Nikola and his dogs helped us uncover two truffles today out hunting: one white and one black truffle. When we got back to the bed and breakfast, we used their pot to melt down butter and then shave the black truffle into the butter so we’ll have truffle butter to spread on our bread for the rest of our Croatia trip. And tomorrow’s egg breakfast will be layered with the white truffle!
Our walk in the woods with the dogs was enjoyable and educational. A fun experience.

One of the best tours that I’ve ever had in my life. Been with my three kids here for 5 days, this was the best experience that I’ll always remember.

We had a very pleasant walk in the woods with Nicola and his three dogs. He explained everything to us, and was very clear to us that he couldn’t guarantee that we would find truffles but we were going to try. Highly recommand this tour.

I had always wanted to experience truffle hunting and this adventure did not disappoint! We had such a wonderful time with Nikola and his 2 sweet pups! We were successful as well in finding truffles! It was a wonderful day! This is a must when visiting Istria!

Had a wonderful trip truffle hunting yesterday. Our guide was brilliant and spoke amazing English. The dogs were wonderful, we especially wanted to take Luna home xx.

My partner and I just had this experience today and I can’t say enough how glad we were to be able to learn and be apart of something so unique and specific to Croatia. Super interesting hunt through the woods for truffles, with two fun dogs. In the summer, I recommend asking Nikolai for some mosquito repellant, which he keeps in the car.

We had a great time exploring the forest and hunting for truffles with Nikola and his dogs. We were there in the "in-between" season but his dogs still found us some small truffles - enough to flavor our morning eggs. :) He used the off -season opportunity to work on training his newest dog- a five month old hyper - energetic puppy that kept us laughing. Nikola was personable with a great sense of humor and he went out of his way to connect us with some local mushrooms knowledge and make a lunch reservation for us at an excellent rural restaurant. An all around great day!

The length of the tour is minimum 1 hour but you can be in the forest how long you want to be.
You just need to let me know when you will like to come day/date and then we will settle a time for the tour.

The cost of the tour is 60Euro total so 30 Euro each of you.
You can have also degustation of same meals with truffles and cost of this is 10Euro per person.

My husband and I will be traveling from Zagreb to Dubrovnik for 16 days in June. We plan to spend 4-5 days in Roving. While in that area we would like to do 1-2 truffle hunts andone with Nikola. We have always had the black lab breed of dog and thought this would be fun. I want to also go to olive oil farms and goat farms. Can you tell me how I go about contacting Nikola. I tried to email thru the site but no response. I don't know if I need to reserve prior to our visit. We live in California and am so excited about our upcoming trip. Any info would be appreciated. No. We got to taste a bit of a fresh truffle, that was fantastic. But no, if the dogs find a large truffle, it goes to market in care of the guide.
