The museum was only 10 minutes walk from our hotel so we have it a look. Cheap entry of 15 Kuna but there wasn't that much to see. Work was going on so perhaps they are planning on some improvements but two rooms of shells...More

Many people come to Makarska just for the beach, but miss out on the incredible cultural heritage of the town. The museum has vast amounts of shells from all over the world which were mostly collected during the past century without the help of modern...More

The shells are beautiful, some huge and others less than 1 cm. Photos aren't allowed. The Museum is well worth a visit and is housed in the cellar of the Franciscan Monastery.

This small but interesting museum contains shells all arround the world. Sizes and colours of shells represents beauty under the seas and we were surprised to find this rich colection. Beautiful

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the working hours, it's open only few hours a day. But it holds a true treasure of the seas, beautiful shells and the ambiance is great as it's located in an old monastery.

5 kuna for children and 10 kuna for adult. All from Makarska's region! I recommend this museum because it is very interesting and this all fishes live in sea today

If you like shells you should visit the museum. It is run by a group of nuns, who can tell you the history of the collection. If you don't like shells, don't go.
