I've been up there before but wanted to show it to friends. In the past, one just arrived and bought a ticket. I didn't know it had gone completely online. (Bad news and discriminatory if you don't use a computer all the time!) Someone has decided that they will only let in 20 cars per hour. Thus, when we arrived, and before we were gruffly turned away, there were cars all over the place. The "brilliant" idea of 20 cars per hour wasn't matched with availability of space. Actually, I do speak some Croatian. (To around what is a steady B2 on the Delf scale- think a good A-level if you are English.) But the two uhljebs there were rude and unhelpful. Avoid it: find a mountain elsewhere. There are skywalks in Austria anyway.

Nice, sturdy construction. Walking on it it's an interesting experience especially for those afraid of heights. The view it's nice but far from spectacular, better view from Vosac cabin. Time spent on skywalk is limited. The spot is popular, luckily they have limited the number of cars that can go up in an hour. Road to the skywalk is pretty scary for unexperience drivers. Buy tickets online, in time, so you can choose exactly the time you want to enter the park.

Absolutely breathtaking views! 😍 We booked this as an excursion with dioklo adventure September 2023.
Our guide drove us up the mountain in a 4x4, frequently stopping at beauty spots along the way and telling us little facts about how high we currently were on the mountain.
We stopped for a picnic and had some drinks and conversation, it was beautiful up there. The mountains, trees, and nature were so serene.
Then we went to the highest point, Sv.Jure. when we reached the top, where we got out, took in the marvellouss view and walked up to see the little chapel at the top. You are only allowed 20 minutes at the top as the carpark is very small and it's to keep people moving, which we thought was great.
It felt like we were on top of the world. The view was phenomenal. Then we decended back down the mountains, taking in the views and returned.
I would rate this 10/10. I would definitely do it again! Thank you to all involved.

I went to Biokovo mountain also in the period before Croatian war, with my parents, and now I keep comning back alone, always with my motorbike. It is one of the best locations for motorbikinig in Croatia, although the road leading to Sv Jure peak is in a poor condition and park generally overwhelmed with too many visitors. Hopefully they will soon complete the cable car from Makarska! Do visit the Vrata Biokova restaurant

We stayed in campsite Biokovo in Zagvozd and had a early morning tour to the mountain. Northern side of the mountain was perfect choice in summer hike. We were hiking under the shade of trees. We didn't go on top, but walked up to the first water wells and stayed there because it was perfect spot for us.

We have visited Biokovo Nature park for a couple of times because it offers a perfect escape from the crowded beaches of Makarska. It is great for all - hikers, cyclists and also for families due to its newest addition, Biokovo skywalk. I have written a detailed review with some tips in my blog (link in bio), I hope it helps you to make the most of your visit.

Took a walk from Makarska and headed to the path from Makar. It took about 2hrs 20 minutes to reach the top, with quite a few short stops on the way. It's not too arduous a trek, but starting this at 10:30 in summer was not one of my best ideas as it was hot! The top is tree covered mostly, so not too bad, the first half would've been easier without the sun overhead, so I'd say start earlier. The views from the top are really worth the effort, you can see a lot of the islands and the coast looks awesome! There's a little hut at the top you can shelter behind if you need too, and benches too. Take plenty of water and some food!

So so view and exstremely rude guides, fail to see the point of the skywalk nor the sign with max. 30 persons at a time when no one is adhearing to the rule nor controlling it. If you wan't an exihibition in self-importance however, this is the place for you

If you are scared of heights, go somewhere else! The narrow road up the mountainbike is one-file and with sparse if any railing. Horses, donkeys and cows wandered on the road as well. I was scared sh*tless, however it was all worth it. The view was breathtaking and the experience memorable.

I wanted to visit the Biokovo since I firstly saw it in 2007 from the Makarska city. Another inspiration was given by the article Biokovo on the webpage summitpost.org. ( http://www.summitpost.org/biokovo/151261#chapter_10 ).
We decided not to climb it by feet but rather by car. I will not write any details that can be found on the website mentioned above, but rather mention the most important facts.
The road to National park Biokovo may be tricky to find. After enterring Makarska from the south, on the first crossroad turn right to Vrgorac. At the entrance of the park each person must pay 40 kuna. It takes appr. hour and half to reach the top of Sv.Jure (it includes stops near a restaurant and Ravna vlaska, to see amazing views). The road is very narrow and twisty so you have to be very cautios to avoid other cars going downwards. On the top there are two ways how to reach the top. I recommend the continental way - on the left from the parking lot as it is much safer than the coastal way. The top offers amazing views either on the continental Croatia - Sestanovac, Imotski as well as the Dalmatian coast and further islands. On the top there is an old church, you can´t enter into. On the way back after 10 minutes I recommend turning right to Vosac and Strbina. Leave a car on the parking place and follow tourist marks. Getting to Strbina takes not more than 45 minutes and another 40 minutes takes reaching Vosac. Actually, views from the Strbina and Vosac are the most spectacular from the whole trip as these two places are the highest accessible to see the Dalmatian coast. On the whole, a 6 hour journey definitely worth it, because it offers huge adventure how to brighten ordinary vacation. Just do not forget a plenty of water and caution during ascend and descend.

Can you walk up this mountain and if so is there a specific path to follow?
Thanks in advance
