Biokovo.com (E-mail: park-prirode-biokovo@st.htnet.hr) shows great photos and offers a good interactive MAP: click on "Map" (not "Satellite"). Although there is a way to hike from town up the mountain, my hubby and I didn't try it. Instead, we drove up the road into the park....More

The views are fantastic and the surroundings are nothing less than breathtaking. However this was probably also our worst experience in Croatia: First some context: I am a seasoned traveler. Not easily scared and open for any (most) challenges, but this is probably the most...More

Spectacular national park! The scenes are gorgeous. The roads are narrow with sharp hairpin bends and require excellent driving skills as backing up around sharp corners and getting within a centremeter of guard rails or edges or cliffs is required. Often people have to get...More

The drive up the mountainside is not for the faint-hearted and requires some driving skill and knowledge about the size of your car, but the views from the top make it all worth it. Even on a hot, hazy August day the views were astounding.

To get on top of the mountain you have to drive 23km. The drive is a bit scary but soon as you are up there it will be worth it. As you get higher its getting colder too. The air is clean and fresh. The...More

Yes the roads are narrow, but that only adds to the experience. It felt a bit like the set of Jurassic Park had been moved to a mountain - the scenery is spectacular, and the views from the top range from Mt Igman (Sarajevo) on...More

Beautiful scenery; the road is as described with many sections of road only accessible by one car at a time, but small plateaus every 2-300 meters. Wild horses anding the road and beehives (warning: the bees are very protective around this area!) Highly recommended, also...More

There are a lot of reviews of the Biokovo Nature Park that criticise the narrow roads or even say that the road is dangerous. Luckily we decided to drive all the way up to St Jure even if it was high season and roads were...More

We entered the park on feet walking up the nice and steep footpath from Makarska to mountain Kovac. Then we walked a couple of kilometres on feet along the narrow and scenic road, before being picked up by waiting taxi. Being norwegian, we are used...More

We visited the nature Biokovo Park on July 17th, 2018. Summer period, many cars. OMG....the road is just for 1 car, and there is only 1 road to drive up and down, which means you need to cross other cars...which is an extreme sport as...More
