Pretty island , nice bars , shops
Very touristy but not terribly crowded . The weather was very very hot and so it was essential to be in the shade most of the times :) Our guide was great and she explained the history , the old city in korcula is similar but smaller than the old city in Dubrovnik . The flying lion emblem is very prominent here . A beautiful church inside is a must see .

Stunning old town with amazing views and so chilled out.
Such a beautiful old town with stunning views to both mainland Croatia and surrounding islands. Planets of places to eat and drink and swim too just outside to old walls. Views from the bell tower are stunning. Definitely worth a few hours wandering around.

    Old fortified town
I love wandering around the narrow streets of old towns and being absorbed by the history of the place. If doing so in summer you must realise that they can get very hot, so try to seek shade especially in the middle of the day. Korchula is also full of cheap souveneir shops selling the usual touristy stuff, but also a large number of very good restaurants just outside the walls where a decent lunch will be at a reasonable price. In respect of the crowds that descend here, the city is clean and tidy with many colourful oleanders decorating the streets.

    Amazing old city!
Korcula Old City is a wonderful town located in the homonymous island, in the Dalmatian Coast, in Croatia. It is really an amazing place Venetian-style, where you can walk in a lot of very nice streets, see some monuments like buildings, museums, churches, towers, gates and the cathedral, visit some of them, see a lot of amazing views of the old town and the coast from the bell tower of the Cathedral or from a near hill. Also, there are a lot of bars and restaurants, where you can eat or drink something, while you can see very beautiful views. Also, the well-preserved wall is fantastic! Top place in Croatia!

    Safe & idyllic
It was a nice experience, a great walk, shopping and a lot of nice things to see. Very nice to see the warmth of the people work in this City & its lovely to see it all. Nice to see a still somewhat untouched beautiful place. Can sometimes get a bit crowded and high season from the end of June/July to August/September. Then there are too many people for our taste and the employees work from morning to night. They are making a cruise ship port, can't begin to describe how sad this is, it will destroy all the charm, infrastructure and flow of this cozy town. Korčula is not structured in any way for such amounts of people, and tourists themselves do not want such a large influx of people either. Cruise ships should not be allowed to dock anywhere at all, those who want everything on one boat can just be at sea. They do not experience proper local culture and experience on a large scale and everyone else is disturbed and stressed around these masses of people. Until now, the city is full of proud people who want to offer what they have and show it off, give taste and experience. It is a safe and pleasant island to travel on and we love the locals who live here, but also the nice people who come back every season to work in beautiful surroundings. So grateful for the years we have holidayed here and hope tourism does not take over and destroy this idyllic paradise.

    A beautiful place on Earth
I visited this place for the second time and it is one of the most beautiful Old Towns I have ever seen. Beautiful narrow streets full of cafes where you can drink delicious coffee in the shade. If I have the opportunity to be there again, I will definitely take advantage of it.

Beautiful stop on an island hop. Stayed just 24 hours but loved it Traditional singing club in perfect harmony at night was a happy surprise.
Swimming off the little beaches was delightful.

Beautiful place to visit. Not full of rowdy tourists and very family friendly. Beach not far away although very pebbled

Good quality eateries everywhere. Expect to pay 35kn for 0.5l of beer, 80kn for a v large pizza on average.

Some beautiful apartments to stay in and I do recommend Apartment Vita. Its ideally situated, quiet bu smack in the centre of Old Town.

Smaller version of Dubrovnik old town.

Architecture, culture, and galleries, all within very short walking distance and packaged in a romantic flair.

For any short overnight visit, best accommodation choice is within the old town, or new town close by.

Many restaurants, not cheap, but several very good ones.

Small stone beaches in and around town. Not super beaches, but fine for a cooling off swim in between enjoying the town flair.

Use water taxi “Hop on hop off” from the marina promenade, with fixed price for visiting beaches around the southeast coast.

Easy access from Dubrovnik and Split by catamaran direct to the old town.

Lovely old town with Venetian connections and narrow streets , with many historic buildings as well as some fine restaurants . It's very well preserved , almost 'gentrified' one feels , but it is very attractive . Whether Marco Polo was born here or not, it doesn't matter ! The old town is almost surrounded by water and the views are stupendous . One of our party was so entranced he was determined to return and stay for ever . Well worth a visit .

A perfect town to walk around. Shops are unique and pricing is competitive, less than Dubrovnik. Down side is only can pay in most shops with local currency. Good news is that plans are to go to Euro in 2023/24. Coffee shops/wine bars are plenty and very very good value.

Fascinating stay in Korcula overlooking the Old Town. Such friendly local people in the most beautiful of locations. Rich in history, we made many memories of our own during our holiday here. Would definitely recommend staying here and so easy to jump on a ferry or boat to explore further afield.

We took the passenger ferry over and it was only 21 kn pp. the ferry to the island is on the half hour. The ferry journey was about 20 minutes and it was a lovely scenic crossing. The old town is well preserved and beautiful to wall around. Narrow cobbled lanes with shops and eateries. There was some shade and a breeze so it made the visit very pleasant despite the heat. There is lots of churches and a palace. Eateries line the waterfront area too With a breeze shade and great views. A wonderful location to stop for lunch or a drink.

It was not too packed and didn’t feel over commercialised or touristy.

Definitely worth a visit

A beautiful little town, well worth a visit. We spent two days here, but you could easily see it in one day or spend longer enjoying the sea and boat trips. Most places do not accept card payment, if they do they add 10% onto the bill, so make sure you have cash on you.
