While much of the traditional crafts have made way for modern Chinese fare, one can still spend several days here checking out the galleries and medical halls.

It is crowded but it is quite big square for visitors to gather and sit down to take a break and to decide where to go next. We were there on 15th October when the moon was full and it was... More

Nice Square during day time, horrible at nighttime. Load music and a lot of colorfull lights. Sad to see what they have done to this place.

This is the centre of the old town and quite square shaped with 4 roads emanating from it. Shops and restaurants surround the square and we picked a restaurant on the 3rd floor and got a nice view

A bit touristy like the rest of the old town but for Western eyes good to see the many shops selling silver jewellery and silverware (even silver ear wax cleaning sticks!), souvenirs, etc. Plenty of places to eat or just get a BBQ snack. Was dying for a coffee but expensive (48 Yuan or £5.50 after Brexit). Elsewhere in the... More

Square Street is a Town Square located in the center of Lijiang Old Town. This is the place for festivals and fairs, people watching and relaxing as well. On the day we were there it was quiet, most of the stores were not even open. I can take as many photos as I want with no one in my way.... More
