This was my favorite part of Lijiang. A beautiful view... we had a Yunnan coffee by the pond with a view of Snow Mountain and it was stunning. The Coffee was okay and grossly overpriced (55 cny ) but the view made up for it

The main reason to stop in Lijiang is the view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The view from the park is a classic. And the crowds of visitors are part of the spectacle.

Black Dragon Pool (Heilongtan) used to be called Jade Spring Park (玉泉公園). It is a famous pond located at the foot of Elephant Hill on the northern edge of the Lijiang Old Town in Yunnan, China. The surrounding buildings were built in 1737 during the Qing dynasty. The pond is the water source of the canals of the Old Town... More

Beautiful views and photo opportunities! You can't not come here if you visit Lijiang. Entrance to the park is included in the old town conservation fee.

Nice park with central pond to visit but the 80 rmb conservation fee is to much for this park. The glacier mountain as background is so nice for a photo

This is a nice place! You have to pay the city fee (80 yuan) which gets you access to the park and the old town. This park is great to chill out, people watch and enjoy your surroundings. There are many pagodas and bridges and the park can be full of monks and groups singing, as well as locals in... More

It was a cloudy day when we were at the park during sunset, otherwise the pictures of the pond and pagoda with the mountain as background would be much better. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the leisurely stroll around the garden. This park is worth a visit but do pray for good weather.

As opposed to the old city of Lijiang which has been spoilt due to overcrowding and over-renovation, the black dragon pond is a really well preserved Chinese garden with beautiful perspectives on pond temples and lake. You do not feel the crowd that is thee in the city. Really worth spending 1 hour there.
