This is one of the best show I have every seen. There are lots of people involved in the show and most of them are peasants not professionals doing the acting. They are all from the minority group and it brings forth their culture through songs, dance ,and their movements.

Unfortunately it was a cloudy day and the background with snow capped Jade mountain was never seen, plus there is a severe pouring rain storm approaching in this open air theatre at the end of the show. Though rain gears are all provided, people left in a choatic fashion.

The production of the show was excellent with at least 400 to 500 people partipating which makes it spectacular. The drum show was overwhelming and well organised

We really enjoyed this show which is approximately more than an hour long.

We were hesitant going for the show as heard from some locals there is a better show in town. So that morning we hired a driver from the ancient city to drive us to Yulong Snow Mountain and a few other locations. We completed the Yulong circuit early and had time to spare. Our driver told us as a local he could get us discounted tickets to the show if we are keen and we thought why not as there was lots of time to spare. The stage was huge with the Yulong Snow Mountain as a backdrop and a very good sound system. We were seated on the first row and caught most of the action. But after the show we walked up the rows of seats and wished we had sat up in the last row and middle as the backdrop was more spectacular higher up. The Lijiang Impression really gave us a good idea of what the local scene was like long ago and the many colorful costumes signifies the different ethnic groups. But the sense of Mongolian influence is strong. The weather was kind that afternoon and we got through the hour long show taking home fond memories and photos.

It's a waste of time. There were 24 of us went for the show and majority fell asleep.

You won't understand what they trying to convey and performers lack of coordination.

Most of the time just seeing them running about and shouting.

Not worth the time. Mind you, it was above 4,000 meters and you imagine sitting under the strong UV for an hour.

This show is excellent. The costumes of the actors is very interesting and the story telling is very visual. The back drop of the Jade Dragon snow mountain add to the atmosphere of this exciting show.

Excellent show. Tells a very good story of the history of Lijiang and the people. Music and performance was really entertaining and informative. It’s a perfect end of a tour.

Yulong snow mountain provided a majestic backdrop or this songs and dance show by locals. It has been going on for years and indeed deserve a visit.

Was apprehensive amidst the mixed reviews about the show. However, decided to watch it since I would be in Lijiang.
It’s definitely worth the money and time.
Although it was not exactly easy to secure a single ticket as I was travelling alone and is not local. The online booking website is definitely not friendly to foreign travellers.

The backdrop is indeed stunning. Weather was great on the day of my visit and the snow capped mountains greeted the audience. I felt that the show was a sincere showcase of the ethnicity of the minority tribes of Yunnan — their dance, songs, costumes and their passion. Parts of the performance were touching and heartwarming.

I realize that this is a "must do" for visitors to Lijiang, but I fail to see much relevance to Lijiang or its history or culture. There are costumes, horses, a cast of hundreds, and even a loose plot dealing with clouds and lovers. Even the cousin and wife of our guide Nongbu are among the cast members. He says it is a coveted job in Lijiang.
We arrived late and had to find whatever seats available. The subtitles help a little but the meaning of the text is rather abstract.
The weather was good as the venue is outside. Afterwards we helped ourselves to free red baseball caps.

With Jade Snow mountain serving as the backdrop, the scene is spectacular. When I was planning my Lijiang trip, this show was one of the recommend activity. I have set a high expectation (maybe too high). Eventually, it turned out not really impressed.

The music and the background is amazing but it's too hard for me to really understand and feel the cultural message in the show. The English subtitle is small. I barely read it and watch the show at the same time.

If you want to book the show, watch out for weather forecast. I was sitting under the rain the whole time of the show. And when it rains, you will see nothing but fog in the background.
