I went expecting to see only the Leshan Buddha and Temple. The I Ching Cave and depiction of Lao Tzu made the whole trip special. Seeing the confluence of Chinese thought at the juncture of two rivers with Leshan Giant Buddha was awesome.

You can go and see this separately, but the Big Buddha ticket covers this.

It's rather like labyrinth, with multiple buildings on multiple levels, many in different stages of repair. I liked that as you could see the structure, methods being used and the final results. You also get some great views over the river.

After some hours driving we arrives at the temple complex. In this quiet area you can feel the special atmosphere.

After seeing the wonderful views of the city of Leshan, we headed to Wuyou Temple. It is simply elegant, there are many rooms, many gardens, many altars and many devoted to making an offering. We also lit incense and visited all dependencies of all styles and from all periods. In a good state of conservation. With niches, large patios, small capes. Large patios with trees gyngo. And a large temple with a large room where the will be marrying offer written prayers to augur a good comproniso. There is a monk in charge of these tasks. Then move on to other large pavilions of red with lots of gods and stunning decorations, museums, lamps, furniture. Leaving the temple to plummet down a vast park at the back of this mountain. There are ancient sculptures, stelae, and small excavated caves where there are beautiful images.

The last stop on the Giant Buddha complex ticket (although you can do the tour in reverse, making it the first) the climb up to the monastery is intense, but worth every step. Lots to see, including the amazing Arhat Hall, featuring 500 very colourful buddhas. It's a living, working monastery, so you will see the monks at prayer in the very impressive temples. The climb back down is just as intense. Unfortunately. Not a place anyone with any walking issues could ever handle. It's included in the RMB70 entrance fee, but you can't buy a ticket just for the temple itself.

We got to see and hear the monks chanting. There are amazing lotus candle lit there. A great place. It's extremely near the Giant Buddha and in the middle of the forest, so I guess it would be awesome to visit it in the summer, too.

Amazing and a must do. It is about 350-400 steps one way but is a must do. It is beautiful and there is not much of a crowd there. So yo can get some amazing pictures and see Buddhist monks praying etc. This is something you should really check out if you are into temples, old buildings and Architecture. The souvenirs on the road here if you bargain turn out to be at a great price. We found the cheapest toy Pandas here.
It is included in the ticket for the Leshan Buddha.

most people don't bother to get there - they just come for the Buddha but really follow the path up to there its a cute scenery with a beautiful, few people its relaxing. cross the bridge and walk up, we were alone in the temple it was cool. just enjoy the view outside. nothing extraordinary inside but still pleasant and then you can climb again to see the monastery and its garden.

We went to the Leshan Giant Buddha on a private tour and visited a temple our guide told us was Wuyou. Now that we are home, we aren’t sure what we visited--we know we did not cross a scenic bridge, yet toured a series of Buddhist temples with beautiful statues. In any case, after viewing the Buddha from the observation deck, we headed away from it to an area containing several distinct Buddhist temples. Each one had similar decorations: a huge Buddha surrounding by his guards who protect him. Incense burners abounded and we were lucky enough to be at one of the temples when a monk was teaching a parishioner how to pray properly. This is a working monastery location so one of the buildings could not be entered, though we were able to look in because of the large open panels that faced the center court.

The tour was interesting in conjunction with the visit to the Giant Buddha but not so fascinating that we would recommend a special trip to Leshan to see it: other, more accessible temples are available and most seem similar in design, structure and purpose.
