Nice park and history.

We visited the park while we had a few hours to kill. It was very nice and educational. I wasn't aware of the iron history in this section of the country.

We had some extra time in the morning so we went here to walk around. It was not open but you could walk around the Vulcan monument and see great views of the city. They had a nice picnic area. Easy to get to and from the park from the highway.

We've been visiting Vulcan since we were children. Now we enjoy taking our grandchildren, along with out of town guests. It's Birmingham's most recognizable landmarks. It's sits high above the city in a lovely park setting. Make certain to visit the museum, which tells of Birmingham's iron and steel origins.

We live just outside the city of Birmingham, but from time to time we like to visit attractions around the area and take our grandkids. The history of Vulcan "the Iron Man" is extremely interesting and has a lot of exhibits placed inside the venue, to not only read it's past, but the photos of the making of the city... More

We just went for the view and not to go to the museum or inside Vulcan (which cost money). I liked the view but my kids were not impressed and thought Vulcan was much smaller than they expected. One had wanted to climb it, but changed his mind when he saw it and said it was not worth it. The... More

I was in Birmingham for business and wanted to see a little of the city. I saw brochures for Vulcan Park and it looked like an interesting place to go. I was able to visit the park with my husband and we found the museum to be very informative about the history of the area. After we enjoyed the museum... More

What a fun thing to do in Birmingham. Nice and simple history lesson with the best view in town. Not to mention dropping pennies into the fountain from the top of Vulcan. That is truly a wish come true.

It's a nice place for a spectacular view of the city, but other than that ... The museum is very small but I believe they are under some kind of renovation

It's at the top of a hill with a nice breeze at the top. The statue is impressive but the addition made of cement w/ the elevator really took away from the impression. The visitor center was closed but the placards at the top explained the statue and how it ties to the local environment. It also has interesting maps... More
