Website does not list one way or another if pets are welcome. We came, with our small pet, in a stroller, and were greeted by a defensive and rude security woman who basically scolded us off the property. We just wanted to walk around a historic site for a little while, to be off the road. They were clearly having a slow day, but that didn't seem to matter. As it was 87* we were NOT going to leave him in the car, for even a few minutes.

Our plan was to wander a bit, then hit a local place for lunch, gas up, and be on our way. Thanks to this security woman, we took our dollars to the next town up the road, who welcomed us, and our pet. I'll be thinking twice about stopping in Birmingham, again.

Judging by the number of visitors, this site does not appear to be too widely known. Definitely worth going to if you're in the Birmingham area. The house is beautifully restored, incredible furnishings and a wealth of fascinating history

A nice historic home, the only antebellum mansion remaining in Birmingham. Due to the weather conditions I could only view the gardens from afar, but they looked nice.

This is an interesting home with gardens to visit, but nothing spectacular. It's always interesting to hear of the lives of those who lived before us.

My wife and I just luckily was invited to join a history professor and her students to tour the home. Don't forget the gardens as well.

This is a very low key experience, self guided with only average descriptions. Not over priced, but not sure it is worth the effort to drive to it. Some good history of Birmingham but not much else.

Wonderful 19th century home that has been restored with period furnishings. We were lucky enough to have a personal tour from some lovely lady curators. Definitely worth a stop by.

We had a brides maid brunch and tour of the site. It was very interesting. The food was very good, had several items to pick from, the large rooms was set up perfect, the staff was warm and welcoming, our server was very slow but it was her first day on the job

I've been wanting to visit the Arlington Plantation for quite awhile and their Christmas event seemed like the perfect time. The entire experience was charming and we felt as though we were stepping back in time. They offered their historical home tours complete with 4 southern belles in hoop skirts and bonnets, cookies and refreshments, and photo opportunities with Santa. The waived admission this weekend and admission was by donation, but the house was decorated top to bottom and we had a great day. Definitely will be back!
