If you haven't attended, the Steel City Jazz Festival is definitely worth adding to your bucket lists of things to do. Linn park is the perfect venue with lots of shade trees and a nice breeze to enjoy good music. My only critique, port-a-potties. Installation of permanent facilities warrants 5 stars.

This is a reasonably quiet green space in the middle of town with the usual features - statues, fountains etc. Quite peaceful, although there is a slight issue with homeless people. An interesting thing: There's a tall confederate memorial at one end of the park, but as Birmingham decided in 2017 that Confederate monuments were no longer welcome, there was a dilemma. In the same year, lawmakers passed the Alabama Heritage Preservation Act, which forbade Birmingham or any city in the state from removing or altering Confederate monuments that had stood for more than 40 years. This seems to have been temporarily resolved by erecting tall wooden hoardings around the memorial.

Beautiful downtown area with amazing churches and interesting bars. Cool view from The Roof, go after dark because there is no shade. Linn Park is lovely, only serious issue is a significant homeless population that seems to be everywhere downtown. We were out for an evening walk, looking for a place to have dinner because – take note: almost everything is closed on Mondays. Walked through a park where the homeless were going through all the purses they’d acquired that day, so I walked my purse back to the hotel immediately. Did find one restaurant open on Monday - John's City Diner, which was great.

Overrun with homeless, Park itself is nice but we ended up having to avoid both the entrances. Not really recommended

DO NOT GO THROUGH HERE!!!!! The police do not run the homeless out and they yell and chase people. I was a trip with a group of people and our group was minding our own business on the way to the museum of art (highly recommended) and a homeless man chased us. The leader of our group was talking to the guard in the museum and he said to NEVER go through that park! Extremely dangerous!

I have went to this park a few times and tried to enjoy it but failed. It is a beautiful park in the city, but there is a large homeless population within it, and many of them are not very nice. I understand that these people need somewhere to go, but to be honest, it can be very scary as a small female. Me and my husband got stopped by a man asking for money. We had no cash on us and when we told him that, he got angry and continued to follow us around. We had to leave. I would love to spend time there as its very pretty but its much to scary. If you want a good safe park in the city of Birmingham, go to Railroad Park. They have security guards and its much safer.

In the past, we used this park to be the beginning and end of a yearly heart walk and the festivities associated with variable charity events. Now, it is an object of political / racial discord; not even a family -friendly park.

This park is in between city hall and the Jefferson County Courthouse. It's full of homeless people, drug dealers & users on a daily basis. Little (if nothing) is done by the city to insure the safety of the pedestrians in the park.

I attended the SteelCity Jazzfest in Linn Park. A very spacious, clean easy to find park in downtown Birmingham. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The facilities were clean. Parking was accessible. The grounds were well kept with beautiful plants. Sound system was good and no bad space where ever you chose to sit

Linn is a great park downtown Birmiingham, it as good and bad memories. The Statues are a remiinder of our city and the pain it went through during the Civil Rights Movement.
