So much to see and unfortunately a late start meant we arrived at the busiest time and so only saw a fraction of what was available. Well worth a visit and very busy when we went April 2016 as a part of Ross Garden Tours...More

A must to see. Make sure you have sunscreen and hat. As we were foreigners, the school groups all wanted to have our pictures taken with them. A lot of fun.

Visiting the grottoes is pretty tiring, there are many stairs and on the day we visited (first of May) it was incredibly hot, so I wouldn't suggest it to elder travellers. But overall it was worth it, the grottoes are spectacular. Moreover, included in the...More

After our visit to the Longmen Grottoes we wanted to catch a taxi back to the Highspeed Train Station but all the taxi waiting at the grottoes refused to use the meter. As tourist we do not want to argue but just felt annoyed by...More

The Grottoes are a must see in China, so don't miss these. Entrancefee is 120 Yuan per Person and includes one postcard and the entrance to all temples and caves. Guides are available for a low price and recommended, because there is no information written...More

The views are amazing and you get a walk. Make sure you go up those inclined stairs towards the end no matter how tired or hot you may be, it's totally worth it when you get to the top. I'll just leave it at that...More

We went to Luoyang for a Sat&Sun at the end of April 2017. Left Beijing on the train at 7am, 4 hours to Luoyang where we were met at the station by our guide Lisa and her driver James. That day we visited the Shaolin...More

It is a must-see even if it is crowded. We went in "low season" and with light rainfall, but still quite a few tourists (mostly native). Our guide Lisa, a native of Luoyang, was really invaluable in providing a historical context to what we were...More

It was one of my personal highlights of our trip to China, a very special example of religious art that was created through many centuries. The Buddha statues of different sizes are wonderful, unbelievable how they were carved into the rocks. Some statues and heads...More

Can i get battery car or boat from the entrance along the walk? Hi! I plan to visit there in September with my family. My parents are quite aged and have difficulty in walking for long distance. I'd like to know whether we can get battery escort along and make a multiple stop at the scenic spot? Or can we get on the boat from the entrance and get back at the same spot? Thanks Jan

There are Battery Carts but only right up to the Longmen Gate. They can enjoy the view from the bottom of the hill as there are steps to climb if they want to get close to the grottoes. Some steps could be quite tiring for... More
