Good show

The show itself is really sweet. Seeing the river and mountains lit up at night is fantastic. Fairly crowded and full of tour groups but once your in the show it doesn't matter. I... read more

Firstly, this is NOT the outdoor performance with a cast of 600 directed by the famous 2008 China Olympics opening ceremony, Zhang Yi-mou. This is an ordinary performance at an indoor theater the consists of primarily acrobatic feats and a little dancing. And ordinary it is as this type of performances can be seen all over China and is nothing... More

The theater itself is already awsome. You can see a chain of beautiful mountains just behind. The spectacle is amazing and different from all spectacles that we have seen before. They do almost everything on the bamboo boats. It's really special. We took one tour with our hotel and it costed less than the normal price at the entrance. We... More

First of all, the dancing and the light show is just beautiful. The problem is that, understandably, there's nothing in English. So basically you're just staring at a two hour dance and light show, which is OK, but not for everyone. Second, due to local "waiting-in-line" culture, you don't just buy a ticket and go to the show. There are... More

There are all sorts of shows in China, but this was by far the best one we saw during our 11-day vacation. What a spectacular setting with Yangshuo's iconic hills in the backdrop. The choreography was brilliant and the costumes were amazing. You must see this show, which was designed by the guy who did the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony... More

Pro - The show was nice and very entertaining. The colors and the coordination were quite the sight. Con - For me the story was very difficult to follow. I felt the cost of 240RMB per person for B2 seats wasn't worth it. Also I had to be there nearly an hour before the show, and the show is only... More

The place was very crowded and the show is nothing to rave about. Seeing the location and settings, I was expecting something better than the Macau dancing water show or the water shows in many other tourist cities in China. Traffic in and out was also terrible. Yangshou has much more natural beauty to offer. Stick with bikes, river rafting... More

We have attended the show with three small children. The story seems to change looking at some earlier reviews. We definitely enjoyed this year's show, although none of us really understood the story. But this big natural scene is truly amazing and you see hundreds of actors in different places, it feels like being part of a movie. Yes, the... More

I adored this show, it was something very special, even though I went along half-heartedly expecting another tourist trap. All of the other Western tourists I met adored it too although I heard some Chinese tourists find it boring. It was really one of the highlights of my trip and glad I went along.

Our travel guide suggested this show to us, and it was worth every cent. We went through China Highlights and as part of the tour we had a private guide who escorted us straight to our seats for the show and she was there at the end to walk us back to our private car.?With so many people per show,... The show itself is really sweet. Seeing the river and mountains lit up at night is fantastic. Fairly crowded and full of tour groups but once your in the show it doesn't matter. I sat in section B1 and it was a bit more separate from the majority of people so would recommend buying tickets in this area.
