For us, it was a convenient along-the-way stop for our full-day outing to explore the villages (Tangyue, Hongcun, Chengkang) in this general area. We enjoyed it. About a dozen Qing buidings were open and there is no ticket charge. Surprisingly, there was also no crowd. There is nothing much in town either, but if you happen to drive by, look out for an old abandoned, but very authentic looking pagoda (age unknown) and a 500-year old (according to a Chinese sign inside) "bus stop" (just beside the modern version), just 300m away from the museum.

I'm glad we didn't hunt this place down and take time looking for it. Since it was on our way, we thought we should stop and take a look. Were we glad we didn't go off our trail because it's an ok olace but not much to see or do. If you are strapped for time, this is not a place to see. If you are trying to kill time, it might be ok for a few minutes.

This place is a show piece of Ching and Ming dynasty architecture. Nice to walk around and see old relics and houses.

Qiankou is in a valley with several MIng style buildings up one hill and the Ching style buildings up the opposite hill. They were all relocated from different villages in the area, put on the hills in no special order. There were no explanations and the buildings were not well kepted. Skip this place and go visit a really working village.
