Nice and quiet place, fewer tourists go there. No public transportation. I took a taxi from Tang-Kou to go there.

Our visit was fairly misty (so visibility a bit limited), but we really enjoyed our walk up Emerald Valley. Be aware that as usual in China, there are plenty of stairs, so be warned. The waterfalls are not huge, but just hearing the sound of the water and the quiet made this an enjoyable visit. The colour of the water... More

Emerald Valley is the understated scenic spot of Huang Shan. With beautiful green lakes in a quiet surrounding, this is a beautiful spot to take in the best of mountain and river scenery. If the crowds of Huang Shan is too much to handle, you will enjoy a quieter outing in Emerald Valley. I would recommend this destination as a... More

This place is about half an hour drive from Tangkou city. There are very few tourists here, hence one can enjoy the scenery peacefully. A leisurely walk takes about 1-5 to 2 hours to cover this place. Nice green pool & bamboo forest. If you've covered Huangshan mountain with half a day to spare, you can consider this scenic spot,... I am Swiss and we have many lovely mountain Valleys there. So I Need a beautyful landscape to be impressed. I was mainly very happy to walk up that valley because I entered the park at 7 and walked until the end and started to read in a book there. Except some rangers I was totally alone, a very rare... I disagree with some of the other reviewers who advise skipping this place. It is beautiful and provided a wonderful walk in the woods alongside a creek and pools of deep emerald water. There were few people when we went and I agree it may be less pleasant if there are noisy crowds--but that is true of every site.
