We did not visit this site as the site to watch the sunset from, but came earlier on the tour. Here one has a great view of the Domeyko range, a nearly completely eroded mountain/hill range with wonderful shapes.

This place offers fabulous sunset viewing in the Atacama desert. This place could be visited as an extended part of the Moon Valley tour. It is in the midst of beautiful natural surroundings offering great photo opportunities. Certainly would very highly recommend visiting here prior to sunset.

As others already said: there are nicer, less crowded locations (even for free) where you can watch or even time lapse a great sunset.
Don’t get this wrong, it’s a great spot up there to watch the sunset, but it’s awfully crowded and you have to leave at 8:30pm. But in summer it’s just the time after sunset when the beautiful colors are coming in the clouds and the opposite direction in the mountains where the sun shines at. So it’s a bit of a pity.
2500 peso p.p. isn‘t too much for this spot.

It is very impressive to see how small we are compared to all that beauty the world has to offer. Really don't forget to plan a visit.

If you do a tour of the Mars & moon valleys you will be taken here after the afternoon tour to view the sunset. The golden hue the sun casts as it sets on the mountains across and the landscapes below are a beautiful sight .

All so magical. All tours end here at Mirador de Kari so you catch a glimpse one of the most beautiful sunsets in the area. A must when you're visiting here!

I came here about an hour before sunset to take photos and enjoy the view. Right before sunset, massive hordes of people come off of tour buses to see it, so it’s best to go early and find a bench to sit on. I recommend watching the sunset then turning around to look at the Andes that appear purple. Then wait and take more photos with the pretty colors in the sky from after the sunset. Many people left early and missed this view. The cost is $1.500/person and it closes at 19:30.

It is the place to come to see the sunset in Atacama, but the beautiful landscape is here the whole day and it is worth seeing!
