About 10 days ago we visited the Museo del Meteorito in San Pedro de Atacama. As recent reviews indicate, the museum consists of a pair of canvas geodesic domes, which, at first glance, suggest that there's not much to offer inside. Don't be fooled! The museum is tremendously interesting and informative, with exhibits that have audio accompaniment and staff members... More

It's located in a geodesic dome lose to the football stadium and doesn't look much from the outside. Go in and you are met with friendly, enthusiastic and informative staff, with good English (including the guy who has only been learning for a month). There is an audio guide which explains all the exhibits around the edge in an accessible... More

My husband and I were always interested in meteorites, my husband especially, since he actually met an astronaut (Charles Duke), who picked up some on the Moon. We were amazed by this tiny muzeum with very well laid out exhibition and accompanying presentation. The staff are young, enthusiastic, knowledgable and English-speaking. Headsets are provided, which give clear inormation about each... More

This was a very informative and entretaining visit. It´s a small, modest tent on a sandy backyard, but the love and dedication the creators of this museum invested are touching. Well worth a visit

It is a cheap place where you can learn a lot, and they have explanations in English, Portuguese and Spanish , the people are very nice and well trained, it is a must.

We have bumped into this small museum and got really excited by the topic. The exhibition combines some artifacts, posters, videos and an audio guide, however these were many times asynchronous, which made it very difficult to follow the flow of content. The audio guides are old, and you cannot stop or rewind them to be able to interpret the... More

The museum is quite small, but the audioguide is brilliant. It takes around 45 minutes. At the end there is a guide showing you real meteorites and you get a chance to learn how to identify if it is real. Price is 3500 Chile pesos for adults and 2500 for kids. This is one of the best museums we have... More

We were really glad to find this little museum that had a very interesting display of meteorites with audio guides in multiple languages, including English, and a fascinating story of how the Atacama desert is a prime place for finding remnants of the formation of the solar system.

A nice small place that has a good tour of meteorites as explained from the birth of the Solar system to planet formation. There is an included English audio guide and then a person explains some other exhibits where you get to touch some big meteorites! The price was definitely worth it and if you are into astronomy this will... More

You do not go to Atacama for a museum. Had some time on getaway day so I walked to this museum and was pleasantly suprised. Housed in a canvas dome, the place was quite cool in the morning. A 30 minute audio tour was followed by a discussion and demo by the lovely attendants. I learned more than I expected... More
