White sand, blue sea and the whole universe at night. Here the biodiversity and fresh air will spell you, a boat trip to watch the penguins and whales is one of the best experiences ever, just don't forget, leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures.

The village itself is not interesting. When we went, in October, it was completely dead and everything was closed. Still, walking along the shore is nice, but can't fill your day.

I have the amazing opportunity to go to Punta de Choro and take the tour through the islands. What it was amazing about this trip was that when we were on the middle of the ocean we started to see how dolphins started to appear. We never thought that we would see so many of them and it was an... More

We did not book a tour in advance but went by a bus from la serena. It starts at nine but you should be at the bus stop at 8:30. It's 4500 pesos one way. After approximately 2 hours on the bus you arrive at punta de choros where you can book the boat tour for 10000 pesos. Unfortunately the... More

This tour was extremely disappointing. I wish I could get my money back. If you have ever seen penguins and sea lions in the wild, you will not like this tour. Occasionally people get to see more animals, but not in large quantities.

We did not use one of the tour companies, so the drive was a bit more than we expected, but no problem. The dirt road wasn't an issue. Since we were coming up without a reservation, we knew that we would have to wait for enough people to fill a boat before we could take the tour. Many cars were... More

Great little town by the ocean Friendly people in the village Saw lamas in the way into the town Don't forget to pick up olive oil there Really nice little restaurant in the village for seafood Make sure you leave the town before sundown as the sand dunes cover the road when it gets windy so don't get stuck The... We booked our trip at Tembeta in La Serena and travelled with a small group (just another couple and the three of us) to Punta Choros and Isla Damas. Our tourguide was Allan who speaks English very well. He has a lot of knowledge about seabirds and the geological history of the region. Unless it took some time to travel... More

See my review of Ecoturismo...book a tour through them and it's like having a private nature show. You do not want to take your rental car on the dirt road here once you get off the highway. Let someone else do the driving.

I'd probably have given Punta Choros another star had there been sun. I visited on one of the few cloudy days, which dampened the experience somewhat. Having seen large colonies of penguins near Punta Arenas, I was a little underwhelmed by the number of penguins here, but there were plenty of other seabirds and seals and apparently a 50% of...
