Neruda is a national treasure. This home is a journey through his serious and whimsical personality. It is filled with his treasures. It overlooks the sea. An hour ride by her. Worth the trip. Go early and miss the lines.

The house is on the ocean. It is filled with a fantastic collection of objects. Pablo Neruda was a poet and a diplomat. The English audio guide was very good.

Unless you are a huge Pablo Neruda fan, enjoy the outdoor views. Some of the museum is interesting, but the sea is so beautiful, it draws one to it. I could write beautiful poetry from those vistas as well! Take time to enjoy the Pacific!

This whole museum also not only includes lots of art and collectables from Pablo Neruda but as well his home. Best to get the headset guided tour which is informative and moves you along at a good pace. Best to go early and beat the crowds.

What a special place this is ! There is a bit of a wait to get in but you are waiting with the Pacific breathing behind you, a truly magic by itself. The house tells the story of a poet and a genius, showing his life behind his writings. It also houses a whimsical collection of all that was dear to him. The gardens are beautiful and the view is spectacular. Definitely a place not to be missed.

PS - please make sure to stop at the cafe. The cuisine is good, wine is excellent and the views of the Pacific are majestic.

It is a well run tourist attraction and can be very busy depending when you go. There tends to be more locals and latinos than tourists from else as Pablo Neruda isn't as well known outside of español speaking countrys. Prices for non-locals is considerably more expensive, The grounds are beautiful and the beach front property has an amazing view! Can't imagine sleeping there hearing the waves crashing against those rocks! Fabulous!!

Literature Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda's very interesting house, great location by the sea.
Of the three Neruda's houses, this one is the most interesting to visit. The Isla Negra house can be reached by bus from Santiago or Valparaiso in about 2,0 hrs on bus from Santiago. it is a beautiful house located by the sea which inspired Neruda and who was directly involved in its design/construction. Has sections that look like a ship since in his earlier years he had been a ship captain, another like a train carriage, and vast amounts of different ship artifacts, shells, ships, butterflies... The electronic audio guide explains every room of the house in different languages that explains interesting facts, objects and stories about the poets life and personal life. I highly recommend this visit. Beautiful place.
