It’s a big scam to avoid. We went there because it was in our tourist guide where it was indicated that a presentation of the house was made against a donation of $ 1.
Before we start the tour, the owner tells us that it is 1$ per person, we accept.
The visit is very brief, including part of the time to present each item of the shop.
Cold shower at the end where the owner asks us $2 per person. We insist that she said $1 but she doesn’t hear anything.
Clearly it’s not worth the $2. Look outside and go spend your money elsewhere.

Excellent experience of a traditional, well-preserved Khmer house. Built in 1920, it was spared in the wars thankfully and has some beautiful furniture. Mrs. Bun Roeung sadly recently passed away, but her niece is deightful and gives an excellent tour. It is only $2 per person and well worth the stop. She also sells some nice and well-priced souvenirs.

Very nice old house and friendly family that showed us around. There is also a small giftshop with local made souvenirs. The lady was so friendly to book us a tuk tuk ride back to the city!

Traditional Cambodian house from the 1920s where you can learn about village customs before and after the Khmer Rouge genocide. The visit was guided by the granddaughter of the man who had the house built. She still lives there with her family, which gave a sense of intimacy to the visit. Very good way to see firsthand the Khmer culture and the pain left by the Pol Pot regime.

House is beautiful. Somer explanations about the building and the family but too much politics and the visit is really, really short....and we were alone.

Amazing traditional house, definitely worth to visit and why not staying over (we did not).
We were welcomed by the nephew of the owner who did the visit in French.
When we arrived we would have expected to have a small welcome tea and a short description of the house and history but the visit started right away.
The visit was pretty fast and mostly focused on type of wood used and how the furniture was placed which was quite interesting but we were expecting a bit more of house history and story telling.

This house belonged to Mrs Bun Roeung's family pre-Khmer Rouge times. When the rouge started they fled the country.
During this time the house was used for rice storage and communal/shared kitchen by the rouge soldiers.

After the rouge she returned to re-occupy the house and later gave it to her cousin who currently owns and maintains the house.

She will gladly walk you through the house explaining all the aspects of the house.

You do not pay entrance fee yet you can make a donation if you feel it apt.

The free tour offered here was amazingly informative. I learned a lot about the history of Cambodia through the eyes of one family. The house itself is beauitful and well worth visiting.

We really enjoyed visiting this house and seeing where some of the KR hiierarchy had lived. We had a good conversation with the owner who told us all about her family and it was actually quite moving to think of what her parents had gone through. The house itself is beautiful - I loved the wood of everything. The gardens are lovely and there are lots of things for sale, which the family have produced. It's certainly worht a visit as part of a tour of the area as it's part of the history of the region and the country,
