We went during water festival, and the bridge was saturated and slippery so make sure you dont wear thongs! It was super busy at sunset, unlucky for us there was no sunset that night to view as it was very cloudy and dull. If you can walk on a bit further away from the crowds its a lot more pleasant. The... Came here with a very high note. But was so crowded, there was apparently no water and sunset was horrible. I suggest to visit in rainy season

If you ever visit to Mandalay this is a must day trip at the sunset. Usually you get it as a part of a day tour and they know to time it so that you have some time before the sunset. It comes with a beautiful view and some sort of a magic athmisphere.

We were hoping to catch the sunrise at the bridge, but too bad it was raining all morning. Instead we found a different ambience of the bridge, cold, misty, wet... Lovely! The od teak structure if the bridge was looking very mysterious.. Yes, would recommend visiting this spot for sunrise

The bridge is nothing really special, it's just a really long wooden bridge. But the scenery is really not bad. Do come during sunset for some amazing views.

Built around 1850 and crossing the Taungthaman Lake near Amarapura, U Bein Bridge is believed to be the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world. This is a very popular spot and it can be very crowded for taking good photos of the bridge. However, you can hire a boat from the fisherman to get a better picture view... More

This is one of major thing that made by man. The longest wood bridge in the world. Very beautiful surrounding also with the river. But better if you avoid mid day. I suffered so much due to the hot sunlight. It's difficult to walk under that sun. Sunrise & sunset must be good. Sunset must be so romantic 😃 You... More

This place is clearly overrated, at least in April. The lake is dirty and full of mosquitos. The bridge itself is not too bad.

We visited the U-Bein bridge as part of a day tour around the three ancient towns of Inwa/Ava, Amarapura and Saigang. Well worth exploring out of town and would really recommend Mr Arkar to take you about. He speaks good (accented) English and has excellent local knowledge and a comfortable car. He was great value too. The towns are all... More

What a fabulous evening we had. We arrived about 5.00pm along with many more tourists. There were several sampans. We were guided into the sampan and given a glass of champagne as our boatman paddled us out so we could get a good view of the UBein Bridge with sunset. What a romantic evening.
