This area is very historic and appealing by day, with fun shops and sights, but even more romantic at night with its cobblestone streets and moonlight alleyways. It is very safe to walk at night, but just be careful you don't twist an ankle of the antique and sometimes slippery stones. We did frequent the stores and patronized the shopkeepers... More

It's a must see in Veliko Turnovo. It;s an old street with old typical bulgarian architecture on the both sides of the street. The street filled with artisans and you can watch them work and also has many cafe, restaurants and gift shops

Really nice small street with very beautiful old typical bulgarian houses on the both sides of the street. You can feel the smell of art and crafts everywhere. A must-see place in Veliko Tarnovo

The market, which consists actually from a couple of streets, is always full o tourists and shoppers. There are a lot of small shops, where artisans are selling and even handcrafting their goods. Very interesting to watch and a lot of nice stuff to buy. One of the main reasons to visit Veliko Tărnovo.

This was a great area to visit on the way to the Fortress. Some of the shops are selling wares that were hand made by the people you are buying from. Great pottery and hand made toys at pretty reasonable prices. Food in the area is also well priced and high quality. I'd highly recommend a visit.

Our friend who is a local and was showing us around Bulgaria told us that if we wanted to buy some good Bulgarian folk art, we should wait until we got to Veliko Turnovo, that she would take us to the "charms" street and we would see some good quality pieces there at a good price. And sure, there are... More

This street is one tourists are shown to in order to buy souvenirs be it lovely silver jewelry, hand painted ceramic plates/bowls, painted icons on wood, glassware, copperware, rose perfume, whimsical clay objects, or fabric/woven bags. The street is cobbled from stones and on a slope, but, thank goodness, pedestrianized. The shops are small and offer their goods mainly inside... More
